LEWIS GINTER BOTANICAL GARDENFEST OF LIGHTS
Join us this holiday season for a trip to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Henrico, Va., for their GardenFest of Lights. We will enjoy an afternoon tour led by trained Garden guides which includes indoor displays such as the Train Room and the Library featuring magnificent holiday trees decorated with hand-crafted garden botanical ornaments. View breathtaking plantings and special holiday displays, including a live holiday tree in their Conservatory. At dusk, take in festively illuminated garden and lakeside pathways among the outdoor displays of lights. This trip will surely get you in the holiday spirit. A buffet dinner is included in the trip fee. This trip involves a significant amount of walking, both indoors and outdoors. This is a joint charter trip with City of Fairfax Young at Heart Senior Center.

NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY — “AMERICA’S PRESIDENTS”
The Portrait Gallery has the only complete collection of presidential portraits outside the White House and now holds more than 1,600 likenesses of U.S. presidents in its collection. “America’s Presidents” is newly refurbished with improved lighting and paint, new labels and wall texts, and the addition of interactive touch screens. The fresh exhibition layout for “America’s Presidents” has grouped the portraits into six historical chapters. Each of the first five sections is organized around a historical era and leads off with a presidential figure. Lunch in the Cafe is on your own. The trip fee includes transportation.

PHILADELPHIA FLOWER SHOW
The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center is the world’s oldest and largest indoor flower show. MORVEN PARK MANSION — LEESBURG, VA
In its 240-year history, Morven Park mansion transformed from a modest fieldstone house into the impressive Greek Revival building we see today. From 1903 –1942, the mansion was home to Westmoreland and Marguerite Davis. During their residency, Marguerite Davis filled her home with eclectic and opulent antiques from her world-wide travels. During our docent-led tour we will hear stories of their civic and social lives. We will also visit the Winmill Carriage Museum featuring forty horse-drawn vehicles — including antique coaches, carriages, sleds and carts ranging from utilitarian to regal. Lunch will be on your own at Lightfoot Restaurant. A considerable amount of walking on uneven surfaces is required, with significant inclines on paths. The trip fee includes admission and transportation.
