Exhibition of Prints 2022 This month Byard Art is celebrating the art of printing by hosting an exhibition of new and recent works by four of the gallery’s printmakers: Charlotte Cornish, Laura Jordan, Gareth Tristan Evans and Maria Rivans. All the prints on display are original in that they are individually handmade by the artist either using an image that he or she has first worked onto a hard surface such as a glass plate or created using collage and drawing. Most of them are numbered prints from a limited edition, although some of them are one-off, unique images or hand finished. Beyond this all similarity ends for they are anything but uniform in subject matter, style, and technique. Original, collectable, and affordable, these prints would offer a great way to start or build up a collection of contemporary art at any time of year, but especially so in the post-festive season when budgets are tight. The three-dimensional work on display will also follow this month’s theme with ceramics incorporating print by Caroline Tripp and Diane Griffin and sculptures by Betty Pepper and Emma Taylor who use books and paper.
