Using our newly acquired printing press, you will discover how to make beautiful prints in both relief and intaglio techniques and get your hands dirty – all while having a great time.

PLANT LIFE DRAWING 1 with Virginia

Reid

This course will focus on drawing natural forms from life in a variety of mediums, inspired by the botanical work of several famous artists. The morning session will focus on drawing and the afternoon session will involve experimenting with mixed media, including cut and paste collage, monoprinting and constructing compositions for painting. Great for anyone inspired by the natural world of plants and flowers.

ART OF JUXTAPOSITION 1 with Virginia Reid

Collage is easy and relies only on a willingness to play with possibilities. Looking at the work of various artists known for their use of collage and gaining inspiration to construct new images for ourselves, no prior experience is necessary. You will be supported to develop the ideas that come from this practice and build a small body of work. A range of printed material will be available but please collect and bring to class any materials you would particularly like to work with.

BREATHING THE LAND 1 with Virginia Reid

This art course will focus on deepening our relationship to the landscape we inhabit. We will make use of materials from the landscape to respond to country and incorporate a range of modalities including meditation, walking, observation, drawing, painting and assemblage. Students will be encouraged to work expansively with nature over the duration of the course to refine ideas and bring them to resolution.
