BYU Wind Symphony and BYU Symphonic Band CONCERT HALL The BYU Band Department celebrates the opening of our new concert hall with stirring music, both traditional and new.

New Music for a New Building RECITAL HALL Members of the string faculty, Orpheus Winds, Brassworks, and the BYU Percussion Studio perform the world premieres of three new works by Steven Ricks, Christian Asplund, and Neil Thornock, each commissioned to celebrate the new Music Building.

Commercial Music and Jazz Ensembles CONCERT HALL Our jazz and commercial music ensembles, including the award-winning big band Synthesis, raise the roof in celebration of our new building.

Beethoven, Symphony No. 9 in D Minor CONCERT HALL Our celebration culminates with performances of Beethoven’s insurmountable Ninth Symphony. Last heard on campus over 25 years ago, this earth-shattering work is the perfect beginning to mark a new era of music making at BYU.
