ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-NINTH
Teach ye diligently and my grace shall attend you, that you may be instructed more perfectly in theory, in principle, in doctrine, in the law of the gospel, in all things that pertain unto the kingdom of God, that are expedient for you to understand;
Of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth; things which have been, things which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad; the wars and the perplexities of the nations, and the judgments which are on the land; and a knowledge also of countries and of kingdoms—
That ye may be prepared in all things when I shall send you again to magnify the calling whereunto I have called you, and the mission with which I have commissioned you.

BYU Celtic Music Ensemble gives BYU students an opportunity to learn the music of the Celtic regions of the world. Those regions include the British Isles, eastern Canada, and parts of France and Spain. The BYU Celtic Music Ensemble performs music primarily from Ireland, Scotland, and Nova Scotia, Canada. The typical types of tunes (instrumental music) and songs (vocal music) performed by the ensemble include airs (slow tunes); ballads (slow songs); dance tunes such as reels, hornpipes, jigs, waltzes, and strathspeys; and some contemporary pieces. The ensemble includes fiddle, flute, mandolin, octave mandolin, pennywhistle, guitar, bass, piano, accordion, cello, and voice.
BYU Irish Dance Ensemble is a student club that has its roots in English country dancing, French quadrilles, and native Irish dance. The style was taught by traveling dance masters throughout Ireland during the 17th and 18th centuries and was popularized in the 19th century, when it became a significant part of Irish culture. Irish dance can be performed individually or in groups ranging from two to sixteen, traditionally known as a céilí. Dancers learn to dance in both soft shoes, known as ghillies, and percussive hard shoes. Irish dance is traditionally performed to jigs and reels.
