MAKING OPEN CITY Rethink Building as a Process Work: MArch II Thesis Advisor: Michael Kokora
Intervention at Hung Hom, Hong Kong
Cities adapt and change all the time. One of the most important characteristics of the city is its ability to change through different economic, political, and social conditions. The thesis calls us to rethink the process of urban planning in Hong Kong, by inserting surgical interventions that utilize idle and underused public spaces in urban areas. ‘Making Open City’ is an urban proposal calling cities to be open for interventions in public space to better serve the changing needs of a society.

SPIRAL SYSTEMS Coastal Architecture & Urbanism Work: MArch I Studio Advisor: Tom Verebes
Eco-Resort on Pulau Ubin Island, Singapore
03
The project explored the notion of spatial seriality by producing customized spatial, programmatic and tectonic modules for coastal tropical setting on Pulau Ubin island, Singapore. The design and research focused on the study of phyllotaxis systems and magnetic fields. While phyllotaxis-driven systems generated resort towers, magnetic field informed spatial transformations, allowing the creation of common spaces between clusters of living units that correlate to sun exposure and natural ventilation.
INSTITUTE OF TOPOLOGY Trefoil Surfaces Systems Work: MArch I Studio Advisor: Christian J. Lange
Institute of Topology at PolyU, Hong Kong
The studio focus on the study of topological surfaces and knots. The building design is a product of series of experiments that deals with connectivity and continuity of space by using trefoil knots as a basis for spatial explorations.
