COMMUNITY HOUSING I focused on improving senior citizens’ lives with a design proposal that encourages intergenerational harmony and an active elderly-based community. Aim of the project is to allow the elders to live in close proximity with their families so that they could take care of one another. At the same time the senior citizens are encouraged to engage in the community, so that they could build up a their own network and make contribution to their neighbourhood.

PAVILION ON YIM TIN TSAI
Researched and experimented with materials and spatial arrangements which will affect our senses and experiences. During the process I gained knowledge of practical construction and structural system.

IN THE PAST Like other Hakka immigrants, the Chan clan, residence of Yim Tin Tsai believe the Catholic missionaries and the belief could provide them with PROTECTION and EDUCATION.
FUTURE
Running in a social enterprise mode, the village will be developed to education centre as well as a spiritual development centre. The village will be a centre to spread their traditional Culture : The culture of living, A cultural learning centre for the next generation and a education centre to learn about the ecology, to experience a simple life. A spiritual centre which not only hold religious activities, the island could also be the place to meditate and to review.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEM A post-catastrophe solution adaptable to different conditions and spaces by applying various function panels to a universal structure system. The panel system is open for further development: unlimited possibilities could be achieved by re-arranging the deployable modular system and designing the specific panels. The System fulfils not only physical needs, but also the psychological needs – privacy and sense of ownership – of the people.

Psychological concerns
“Many commercial companies produce emergency housing, In most cases, the individual units are costly, difficult to transport to s ite and generally not appropriate t o local p eoples’ needs. Occasionally, such housing maybe suitable for the use of relief terms.”
