The Channel Islands National Park Visitor Center makes its home at the Ventura Harbor just a few minuteswalk from Ventura Harbor Village. The visitor center is great for all ages featuring a wonderful gift and bookstore, native plant garden, new live tidal pool, a 360-degree viewing tower, and informative exhibits featuring the unique character and history, and topography of each of these five magnificent islands that make up the Channel Islands National Park: Santame Barbara Island, Anacapa Island, Santa Cruz Island, San Miguel Island, and Santa Rosa Island. Make sure to catch the stunning highdefinition 25-minute movie entitled, “Treasure in the Sea”, narrated by Kevin Costner in the theater. View the live web cams on the screens in the Visitor Center to see eagles resting on massive nests on the islands, or marine life, seals, and sea lions swimming below the sea surface, and more! It’s here, that kids can pick up their Junior Ranger booklet and gear, while visitors stamp their National Park passport. Include a stop at the Island Packers gift shop, the official boat concessionaire to plan your trip out to the islands!
