SOUND CHECK WITH UP

PRODUCING TRIO M.A

We catch up with Birminghams’ finest upcoming producers. M.A.D is the new upcoming producing trio tying to make a name for them selves and we ask the trio some questions that you would die to hear the answers to.

DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD #1

Q. How are you all, well I hope? A. Well I’ll speak for all of us shall I, we’re all very good. Q. Enjoying what you do and life? A. Yeah enjoying everything about life most of all what we do with our music and how we do really got nothing to be disappointed about.

Q. Did you ever get told that you had swagger? A. Yeah, from when we was about 15-16 all three of us was told we had potential and that as a group we had a alot of uniqueness, with sounds and beats that you wouldn’t be able to say, yeah that sounds like something this producer pro-

“Producers aren’t meant to be compared to each other, because every on is different”

Q. When did you all first start noticing that producing was something you wanted to do? A. Well, we first started noticing that producing was something that we wanted to do when we were about 10 or 11 years old and then it came more obvious to us when we started going to dances and raves.

duced. Q.So you were all bron and raised in Birmingham right, what exactly infulences your style of music? A. Yeah we was born and raised in Birmingham, but my

parents moved around alot so it was hard for me settle and find me, so I ended up being influenced by all the different areas and the types of music I came across and what I gained from it I made it my own. As for us two we grew in one area but always kept in touch with each other and we aslo became influenced by certain things that we came across and brought it all together and thats what makes our style. Q.Do you reckon that people are going to hear your music/ beats and be like, who is this? A.Erm... yeah I do, well I hope so, as I said before I want people to be like that doesn’t sound like anything I’ve heard before, I want our sound to be the new sound that other producers will fol-

“Artisits have broken from the mainstream music.”

low. Q.What producers do you want to be compared to? A. Well we don’t want to be compared to any producers, as producers aren’t meant to be compared to each other, because every one is different, you can say I prefer this producer or you can say I don’t like this producer at all. Its all down to the person. Q.Can you see yourself working with American producers or any other producers in the future? A. Well, I don’t know about that one. But we would love to work with American producers or any other known producers, but you can’t always have the best, you have to work up the ladder and make a name for yourself first. Q.Do you have a list of artists that you would like to work

with? A.Yes, we do, but its not a very long one as we’re trying to stay very realstic with it.

as producers tying to branch out form the mainstream producers we feel that this is what it is all about.

Q.Name a couple of the artists that you want to work with? A.We would like to work with artists like; Wiley, Robyn, Lady Ga Ga and Lily Allen.

Q.Okay, then so what are you currently working on, any projects? A. Currently we’re not working on much, but we’re concentrating on making a name for our selves and get some status, making a mixtape with all our beats so far and that’s pretty much it really just trying get a good reputation out in the music industry.

Q.Why have you chosen those artists? A. As a group we felt that those artisits have broken from the mainstream music. These artists have their own style they are not in the mainstream music they have branched out and showed the world their style. They are unique, they don’t have the same qualities that the mainstream artists do, and

“Work with artists like; Wiley, Robyn, Lady Ga Ga and Lily Allen.”

Q. Well I hope you all are very successful and achieve what you want? A. Okay thanks a lot.
