It is situated in New Salt Industrial Park of Huai’An City of Jiangsu Province in China. The building is primarily the new office of Shihlien Chemical Industrial Jiangsu Co. It’s company’s soda ash and ammonium chloride production plant. The architectural design has given by 1992 Pritzker Prize winner and leading Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza. It was his first project in China. The plan was proposed in 2009 and since its construction of four years it was inaugurated in 2014. It has won the award of Building of the Year in 2015 for best office architecture.

The building of the Water was built over a 100,000 square meter artificial lake on an island. It was designed as an extended 300 meter curve. The main material used for construction was white concrete. Whole building is made of white concrete except roof which is contrasting green and situated in the section of this building. There are two storey which spans the floor area of 11,000 square meters with bridges joining the part separated due to curve shape. Being made in the middle of a water body, the interconnecting reflections of building to water and vice versa creates an elegant view for beholder.
