Bartók Divertimento for Strings J.S. Bach Violin Concerto in A minor Dvořák Serenade for Strings Stephanie Gonley violin/director The English Chamber Orchestra, directed by Stephanie Gonley, is delighted to return to Cadogan Hall for this concert to both announce its forthcoming series for 2021-22 and to pay tribute to Sir Roger Gifford, chairman of the ECO Music Society until his untimely death on 25th May. The programme brings together works that have long been associated with the Orchestra over the past sixty years and opens with the virtuosic Divertimento for Strings by Bartók. This is followed by the sublime Violin Concerto in A minor by Bach. The final work is the ever-popular Serenade for Strings by Dvořák, a work the Orchestra have recorded many times with artists closely associated with the ECO including Leppard, Kubelík and Barenboim.
