CHELSEA LIGHTS UP FOR CHRISTMAS

Chelsea is sparkling!

On Saturday, 16 November, the Chelsea Christmas Lights Switch-On welcomed thousands for an afternoon of enchanting entertainment, culminating in a 360-degree explosion of lights and music as the lights were switched-on by Santa and his special helper, a local child. Organised by Cadogan, the day was busier than ever and was proud to support the Kensington + Chelsea Foundation and their Winter Appeal.

Sloane Street is now sparkling with a spectacular new scheme by renowned lighting designer James Glancy, inspired by the extensive new planting, the historical mulberry trees of Cadogan Places Gardens and William Morris’ ethos from the Arts & Crafts Movement, ethereal archways of gold and copper leaves complement the newly transformed boulevard with a canopy of twinkling foliage.

A new twinkling, traditional Winter Pavilion has made Sloane Square the most magical place to be seen this Christmas. It’s home to a programme of seasonal performances and a pop-up chalet by the Royal Court Theatre, serving winter warmers from Wednesday to Saturday.

Duke of York Square’s enchanting display is inspired by the classic Christmas carol, ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’. A collaboration between floral artist, Ruth Davies from All For Love London and illustrator Susannah Garrod, visitors can follow the trail to discover each and every drummer drumming, lord-a-leaping and the partridge in the pear tree.
