The Sixth Edition of The Engineer's Bite, Food Engineering: Exploration. The Engineering Principles Behind Your Favourite Eats! In this edition of The Engineer’s Bite, we explore the world of food engineering. By highlighting careers in the field, we hope to provide readers with a better sense of what responsibilities food engineers have and the challenges they face. We also take a look at the science behind the processes that keep your food fresh and safe, like freezing and pasteurisation. Finally, we answer some important questions that our readers, many of whom are aspiring engineers, might have: how sustainable is food engineering? What chemicals are put into my food and why are they there? We hope that you gain valuable insight into the need for engineering principles when it comes to our favourite delicacies.
