White Out Get involved in the colour of the summer What could be better to revitalise your winter wardrobe than a dose of clean, fresh white. It may be slightly premature to be wearing white with the current un-predicatable spring weather, but start as you mean to go on. Do not be drawn into the false pretence that wearing the white trend is as easy as it looks. The right type of white needs some consideration, decide whether you take on the romantic lace fabrics or clean cut modern tailoring lines. Whichever you choose, have fun with it. If you plan to head to a festival this summer then make sure you pack a chic white dress, or even a pair or white sandals to keep you looking on trend this season.

Meet
Kate Moss British model, fashion designer, icon, wife, mother One of the most talked about, on trend supermodels in Britain and across the world. At the age of 39, she still looks just as amazing as she did 15 years ago. Kate Moss has been a model for the majority of her working life, having never considered a career in film, music or television. She has generally avoided talk shows and magazine interviews and scrupulously avoided writing an autobiography or going to jail.
16
And on top of all that, Kate is now much more than a supermodel, much more than an industry; she is a mother, a wife, a fashion designer for one of the biggest high street brands; Topshop and also has her own line of make-up with Rimmel. Is there anything this woman can’t achieve?
17
Stylist: We recently held a competition to win the Balmain jacket you wore in the new Rimmel campaign. How much input did you have into the look? Kate Moss: Well, I chose the lipstick colours myself, I also had my stylist there on the day, and I knew the director. With the make-up, it was a case of me saying, “I love this red lip with this grey eyeshadow,” and taking it from there. S: Why is lipstick the first make-up product you’ve created with Rimmel? KM: Lipstick is iconic. It’s the one product that marks out an era, and a certain lip colour can define a season. It makes me feel more ‘done’. I wear a beige lip in the day, but red when I’m going somewhere – it makes that transition from day to night. I just slick it on, I don’t bother with lipliner.
“British girls do a really good red lip”
S: Do you think lipstick has a particular resonance with London – is it a very British statement to make? KM: Yeah, British girls do a really good red lip. It’s not so much an American thing. The British are more eccentric, they’re not scared to try different looks, whereas in America, it’s all glossy beige, with the perfect blow-dry, the perfect manicure. In Paris, it’s a dark red lip and a smokey eye. In London, it’s much more thrown together, there’s no standard uniform. S : What is your favourite make-up look from your catwalk days? KM: There were so many, but I loved John Galliano’s geisha show [Dior in 1994]. The make-up was amazing. It was the first time I had really done the eyeliner tick. It was fun getting into the spirit of a particular look. Sometimes I’d be doing five shows a day, some you wouldn’t like too much and some you’d be like 18 “Do they have to take it off? I really like this one!”

Everybody is different. We all know it, but none of us appreciate it. We follow fad diets, try every exercise regime going, but maybe we should just accept our body shapes and dress to suit them. Find out what your shape is and see if you’re doing it right.

MILLIE MACKINTOSH
29
She was a huge hit in the baft nominated reality tv series ‘Made in Chelsea’, where she shot to fame. She slapped bad boy, Spencer Mathews in the middle of the show amongst everyone’s suprise and now she has found herself engaged to rapper, Professor Green. No-one can stop her now. She is a successful make-up artist, model and fashion trend-setter, with her own youtube page, which we recommend for great beauty tips by the way. The 23 year old ultra chic Chelsea girl tells all about the new Made in Chelsea series, her beauty and diet tips and styling for London Fashion week.
What’s your favourite workout? “I’ve just started doing ‘real rider’ classes which are like a spinning class but the bike moves to either side. It’s really fun and it works your core too, you can burn 900 calories in a session. You come out drenched in sweat. They’re quite hardcore so I can probably only manage about one a week. I also do circuit training with a trainer.
What’s in store for the fifth series of Made in Chelsea?
“I do think the best way to train is to make sure you keep changing what you’re doing otherwise you might not really see changes. Do some boxing, Pilates, power plates, running. But the most important thing is to remember to keep having fun.”
“I think it’s going to be the best season yet.
What’s your beauty secret?
“Filming has been going on for a couple of weeks and it’s going really well. Unsurprisingly already a fair amount of drama has happened. I’ve had a bit of a showdown with Spencer, he’s feeling a bit miffed about the slap but it was obviously completely justified.
“I’m really into body brushing. I think everyone should invest in a body brush as it’s a really good way to eliminating toxins and firming up. It has really made a difference to my legs. I just do it for a few minutes every morning and it really wakes you up. It’s really invigorating.”
“It’s been really fun so far because we were apart over the Christmas break, everyone fled to different countries, and now we’re all back. I think everyone having a break and some time away before we started filming again has been good but there are definitely some ongoing repercussions.
“I love Aussie style and fashion”
“There are some new cast members as well who are really great. Although I haven’t been at the heart of it, I do know that there has been a girl fight already.” You’ve been on a health kick. How is it going? “I can’t exercise right now because I’m not eating enough to be doing cardio workouts. I’m on a 12-day-cleanse and at the moment I’m on the second day of a three-day juice programme. “I definitely feel like I’ve lost my Christmas weight now, I had a little band around my stomach. It gets difficult in the evening but in general I’m feeling really good, my skin feels good and people are saying how well I look. “I want to keep this going after the cleanse. I’m all about continuing the healthiness so that it’s not just a January thing, I want to feel good for the summer too.”
What are your top treatments? “I’m really into Moroccan oil hair masks. The central heating and the cold kill my hair so I do a moisture mask every week. I’m also really into using a hydrating mask on my skin overnight to let it recover from this horrible weather.”
How would you describe your style? “It’s a bit of a mix. One day can be completely different to the next. I dress according to how I feel. I think in the last year it’s got a little harder rather than really girly. It’s probably a bit grungier because I’ve been hanging out at festivals and stuff. I always like to have a slight boho feel as well, lots of floppy hats and gilets and tassels. I love tassels.” What are your plans for London Fashion Week? “I’m going to a couple of shows on Friday but I’m actually moving house so my Fashion Weekweekend is kind of torn between shows and having to pack up boxes. I’m going to the Sass and Bide one on Friday night which will be really fun. I love Aussie style and fashion.”
