INDEPENDENT GROCERS HIT THE LINKS IN NORCAL Nothing quite compares to connecting with industry peers in person. We were thrilled to resume our annual Independent Grocers Golf Tournament at Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park this year. The tournament drew dozens of independent operators for a day of networking on the green over a fantastic game of golf. Players were excited by the opportunity to link up with colleagues in person both to form new bonds and strengthen existing ones. Our generous sponsors provided product for players to taste and try from hole to hole throughout the game. A day of play concluded with attendees crossing their fingers to take home their choice of raffle prize.

CGAEF’S INAUGURAL TOP SHOT @ TOPGOLF TOURNAMENT On a crisp November morning, guests gathered at TopGolf for a day of swinging ahead. Dozens of raffle prizes lined the banquet room as Trustees passed out goodie bags and attendees mixed and mingled. Players enjoyed each other’s company while snacking on sponsor treats at their bays. After a year of unpredictability, CGAEF thought it wise to remain flexible and reimagine some of its events in order to support signature educational programs. Thus, the inaugural Top Shot @ Topgolf tournament was born. More than 170 grocery retailers, manufactures, and wholesalers from across the state flocked to Roseville, Calif. to participate in CGAEF’s tournament and raffle. Attendees spent the day networking and fundraising for the CGAEF College Scholarship and Tuition Reimbursement Programs. While prior CGAEF tournaments consisted of a traditional golf game, the new event format allowed members of all skill levels to participate and enjoy a day out of the office in support of grocery workers. “This new style of golf tournament is a fantastic opportunity to help fund our two main giving programs, network with industry peers and welcomes players of all skill levels,” said CGAEF President Ron Fong. “The Foundation is extremely appreciative of the many companies that joined this first-of-its-kind tournament. Your support helps deserving college students of all ages fulfill their educational goals.”
