Decades of expertise Established more than 70 years ago, Glad-A-Way Gardens began as a two-acre Gladiolus farm selling from a roadside stand in Northern California. Customers would mention to the owners, John Canine and his sons Neil and Jean, that they had traveled “a ways” to buy their glads; hence, the name “Glad-A-Way” was born. In the 1940s, the Canines began selling at the San Francisco Flower Market and eventually moved their production to the Central Coast.
