After several studies, The FIA’s technical working group has approved a series of rules changes for the 2020 F1 season. WHICH IMPLICATIONS THE FIA'S UPCOMING REGULATIONS FOR THE 2020 SEASON WILL HAVE ON THE DRIVERS: • Brake ducts classed as listed parts Braking ducts, although partially described as “bodywork” in the technical regulations, are currently not considered part of aerodynamics. However, they will become. They will continue with the function of cooling the brakes and directing heat to and from the wheels for tire temperature management. As part of the parts listed in 2020, Haas will have to design their own parts. A big plus in next year’s planning.

• “Shark fins” to accommodate larger numbers The shark fins are back. It’s a rule that has to do with advertising. Since its ban two years ago, the identification number of pilots, despite being bigger, remains difficult to distinguish. Teams now have a small "shark fin" for this purpose.

• Fuel volume outside survival cell Power unit regulations have imposed a fuel flow restriction since 2014. To measure this, there is an approved fuel flow sensor inside the fuel tank, allowing the FIA to record and apply the fuel flow limit. For 2020, teams can only have 250ml out of the fuel tank instead of the current 2,000ml limit. That’s a major difference! This detailed change defines exactly what the FIA wants from the clutch control and steering wheel. The rules of clutch use at the start of the race are updated annually to reduce control of the software that aids in this component. The main goal is to give the pilot more controller the clutch at the starting the race. Specifically, the new regulation states paddles shouldn't move more than 80mm in one direction. A new emphasis on the pilot’s skill rather than the car’s

• Rear view mirrors New rules have been defined to limit the excess seen on the some of the 2019 cars. This is a nearly completely reworded set of regulations to define the mirror surface, its housing and mountings. These will be major changes for each team and time is running out!
