No changes to the Agenda. MOTION TO ACCEPT MINUTES: March 8, 2017 by Aaron Semkuley. Seconded by Garth Reesor. ALL IN FAVOUR.

-PMF meetings happening now. Discussion on the PMF. Challenges identified with the previous PMF. Discussion on concerns of lack of information currently out for the service providers on what data to collect and what to report April – June 2017. -Terms of reference being discussed with the contract advisory group. -Purpose was to be advisory in terms of the contract.

-Currently on calgaryserviceprovider.org there is the Storybank Project added under its own tab. Stories not kept there but all other information will be. -Reporting at each Council meeting on the stories, usage, etc. -Stories held in a database and categorized (i.e. aging, relationship building, etc.). -Lead generating form – see attached. -$5,000 from the Calgary Foundation for this project. -Catherine Yates is still assisting through to the Annual Meeting. -June 9th 11:45am at Cardel Theatre is the Calgary Service Provider Council AGM and there will be a showcase of the Storybank Project. RSVP to AGM so we have numbers for lunch: http://serviceprovideragm.brownpapertickets.com/ -Council will need an ongoing committee to assist with this project going forward. Agencies can put forward staff to assist by emailing Erin. *Discussion regarding Betty Ann Gagnon and the inquiry. System issues discussed.* -Catherine Yates can do one more story workshop if needed. Sign up at the AGM.

Disability Advocate Act.

-Sandra Jansen, MLA has tabled a Private Members’ Bill for a Disability Advocate. -Discussion on how the Council should respond. Concerns on if this is another level of bureaucracy. -Question posed as to what Council should do and if we are in favor of a disability advocate? -Agreed that executive will collect stories or situations from agencies to bring to Sandra and ask how the new act would support this type of situation. Executive will draft a letter in this regard. -Possible follow up to have a meeting with Sandra Jansen. Executive to take the lead on this.

Supported Living Accommodation Standards

-The group from the Council (homes with 4 beds and greater) has gathered a few times. Information on the current state is that response from the City – Fire is varying. -PDD will assist with the homes that are government owned and taking the lead on specific examples of noncompliance due to Fire. Hoping for a meeting with the City, fire, municipal, Supportive Living, etc. -New standards are to come out in July as a whole (not on just fire but all standards).

-Andrea Hesse is the new CEO at ACDS. If interested in meeting her and/or a tour of the agency, contact Clova directly. -Andrea is based out of Edmonton.

-There is one spot still open. Voting to be completed at the AGM for those individuals on the slate for a 2-year term.

MOTION TO ADJOURN: Elaine Yost Seconded by Jayne Myatt. ALL IN FAVOUR *Goals of Care/Advanced Care Planning Workshop to follow. Presentation attached.

ACTION: Erin to survey members for anecdotes capturing when Advocate would have been useful. Draft letter to Sandra Jensen providing support for Advocate Bill, but highlighting importance of authority/power to act on decisions.
