Avma

The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) establishes policies and advocates for the profession on the national level.

The CVMA ensures that the needs of California’s veterinary professionals are represented at the AVMA by:

• Endorsing CVMA members for the District X position (representing California, Nevada, and Hawaii) on the AVMA Board of Directors. The AVMA Board of Directors determines the association’s policies and promotes the AVMA’s mission and strategy.

• Sending dedicated California delegates to AVMA House of Delegates meetings. Among other items, the House is tasked with voting on AVMA resolutions, electing the AVMA’s leadership, and reviewing and voting on proposed amendments to the AVMA bylaws.

• Identifying and endorsing CVMA members as candidates for the AVMA’s many councils and committees.
