History demonstrates that every advance in architectural design is strictly related with advances in the field of technology. With the rise of digital and computational design, the focus has progressively shifted to digital simulation. New theoretical approaches became possible and easier due to the increasing computing power and have been introduced in the design stage changing the classical design paradigm, based on the addition of elements, in favor of a new strategy based on the interarticulation of different components. In this frame, architectural technology and computational design are joined to explore new solutions and processes through a holistic approach. The project focus on designing an adaptive surface that can be applied to a façade or roof. A hypothetical hybrid building volume was proposed that includes both living and working spaces. Therefore, depending on the local climatic conditions, the main problem to be solved for the façade is to allow sunlight and ventilation to enter and to counteract humidity. The façade pattern is inspired by a beehive and generated by grasshopper depending on the different functions of the building. Our concept is to design an intelligent breathing skin controlled by computer which could change the level of ventilation and sunlight according to real-time weather conditions.

How long have you not looked at the natural scenery surrounding you carefully? When has our life become a repetitive and monotonous routine, residenceworkplace-residence? Maybe pure pleasure can be obtained without the exchange of money, likewise, a chill atmosphere is not necessary to be created by neon lights and disco music. Everyday life spaces could no longer be duplicated and produced by capitalism, nor could they be dominated by the illusions created by consumerism.

Standing on tiptoes to smell the fragrance of a blossoming tree, Sitting by the river to enjoy the soft breeze, Standing on the bridge to wait for a colorful sunset, Holding a lover and watching the starry night. These are extraordinary moments in our ordinary life that are visible and accessible, with the beauty of which is adequate to counteract the mediocre everyday life amidst the rapidly advancing technology. The program of the project is to create an art gallery about nature, offering different spaces for people to observe the sunset, the starry sky, the trees, the flowing water, and any other touching moments in our daily life, combined with the concrete situation on the site. Meanwhile, some exhibition spaces will be provided for artists to display artworks that provoke the spectator to reflect on the neglect of the natural environment surrounding us.

I tried to imagine alternative models of tourism that ensure, among other things: the protection and integrity of our shared heritage, both tangible and intangible; the conservation and promotion of biodiversity and the adoption of innovative solutions to respond to climate change with intelligent use of energy, resources, transport and communication systems. The project will reuse the materials on the site, such as bamboo, fishing net, granite and sand to provide new sapce for both tourists and local residents. The concept is to resurge fishermen’s festivals on the ruins. Through the analysis of activities on fishing open festivals, I want to provide a sacrifice museum for the ceremony and a food street for the family feast.

"The vendors are there because the people want them there." Chawadee Nualkhair, Street Food, 2019

China's street food culture began to sprout as early as the Shang and Zhou Dynasties. However, urban regeneration has brought about a rapid gentrification of the city, with more boutiques, restaurants and cafes appearing in the city's consumer space. Stalls have become more and more rare. Even so, they still haven't disappeared and exist spontaneously and rebelliously in this urban space.

SELECTED WORK FROM 2019-2023

Roadside stalls, as a kind of neighbourhood commerce, were an important source of income for individual people and a place where different groups of people gathered. People queue up in front of the stalls and facilitate community exchanges by chatting and talking with the vendors, people of the same tastes in close proximity. This spontaneous gathering of the community sustains the vitality of the city.

Each trolley in a night bazaar is in fact the epitome of a hardworking and ordinary family unit. Therefore, this project aims to design a bazaar serving for both day and night. Scaffold would be the basic unit to compose different types of space for different functions.
