Zen inc. was named based on its characteristics. Designing the interior spaces to be a place of serenity and a calming environment. This overall concept was directly inspired by the color scheme and atmosphere of a saltwater fish tank. Bright saturated colors of greens, purples, blues, yellows and reds. Demolition and accessibility plans were a requirement the process of this project and were was created in AutoCad and rendered by hand and Sketch up. This was a very exciting program to learn and add to my skill set as a designer. During the development stages, there were some space planning challenges but were later on solved through dedication and hard work. The client was very happy and thought the project was a great success.

This project was designed as an extended stay hotel for client, Jay Kill. The Hotel is geared toward business professionals and individuals that are staying for long periods of time. The spaces accommodate for business meetings and professional functions. Spaces also include places that are for relaxation, dining and simply to have fun. Amenities include, a gym, pool, spa, conference rooms, hookah and karaoke bar. The entire space of Harika Suites was directly inspired by Moroccan culture. A warm, yet exciting color palette compliments the Moroccan style architecture. The Restaurant is large enough to comfortably seat up to 180 guests. It includes a separate bar and entertaining area where guests can have down time, enjoying the culture of Moroccan style Hookah. The restaurant includes private rooms located in the back, where business meetings and parties can take place. Booth sections are tucked away so guests can feel as though they have their own private dining experience.

This was a kitchen perspective created in visual presentations class. I experimented with prisma colored markers, watercolor and pencils. This class taught me how to properly draw both one point and two point perspectives. The Queen Ann chair rendering project I used watercolor and charcoal. The Queen Ann wing back chair is one of my favorite pieces of furniture due to its historical background and physical look. This class really helped me become more confident in my rendering skills and being able to comfortably experiment with art mediums.

This three dimensional rendering was designed in Sketch-up. A direct inspiration of both Art Deco and modern interior. This was a small project I completed on my own time to keep my skills up in computer rendering and residential kitchen design.

These are some of the models I created in some of my fundamental classes and architectural history. All models are made of balsa wood. Some of the challanges I faced were working with such a small scale and fitting so much detail on to the chair models. It broadened my skills in model making and general craftsmanship.

Edita Kazlauskas is an elderly woman that is moving into a small cabin near her son's home. The goal of the project was to design a space using unviersal design that was comfortable and functional. She wanted the space to also be inviting for her family and friends as well. She was inspired by the Doo Wop "Vroom" style. This was a challenging yet interesting concept to explore. She wants to be able to reminisce about her "happy" days when she and her husband use to vacation at the Rio Grande hotel In Wildwood, New Jersey. The space includes pops of reds, blues, yellows, and greens. Photographs from her 1950's trip are used as artwork throughout the space.

Back Bay Tavern is a community resort that is located in Portland, Maine. Visitors can enjoy fresh seafood and fine dining that looks out on Casco Bay where Lighthouses and boats fill the horizon. Back Bay also includes a gift store where visitors can buy handmade crafts, gifts and more. A wonderful lounge area is located in the back of the store with a large stone fireplace, where people can enjoy their morning paper and coffee. Extensive research was done on the demographics. Culture, food, architecture, nature and etc.The exterior structure of the building is a beautifully constructed log cabin with high glass windows that allows Maine's natural light into the space. The inspiration came directly from Maines nature and environmental settings. Overall, this project was a lot of fun and allowed me to express a different kind of creativity. This entire project was all created in Auto Cad and then imported into sketchup for a three dimensional perspective.

This particular project was directly inspired by the infamous Andy Warhol. Abundant pops of color fill this modern New York Loft with explosive character. This project was completed in my contemporary art class for our creative project. I created a functional floor plan that complimented each individual space with some of Andy Warhol’s popular pieces. To add to the presentation I decided to do “splatter paint” in neon colors to represent his iconic color palette.

Located in the heart of Charleston, South Carolina, the andcasters newly renovated house sits looking out upon Charleston’s Harbor and is nestled with historic architecture and style. The young family wanted a space where they could enjoy guests, host parties and accommodate for their private spaces in the house. The Kitchen reflects a classic, traditional style that has plenty of storage, a breakfast bar and table that seats four. The dining room was styled more towards a formal yet casual place where they can host their dinner parties. The living room has a baby grand piano and seating for six. They wanted a luxurious yet laid back environment.

During the process in creating specific spaces in the Landcasters, a criteria matrix was created to help place the new spaces into their current household for proper organization. These matrix’s help with space planning and bubble diagrams. This was a great learning experience because it helped better my skills in programming, space planning and organization.
Cracker Barrel headquarter approached our corporate class about doing a redesign for their current operations building. The building is about 25,000 square feet and it housed over 300 employees. We were assigned to work in teams of three and each team member had their own space to design. We worked as a team combining our ideas and skills to construct a strong concept for Cracker Barrel. Our team proposed two separate phases of the redesign for them. The first was a “face lift” that had a budget of approximately 1 million dollars that focused on cosmetic changes . For the second phase an even larger budget allowed us to completely renovate the entire building. Responsibilities were divided amongst the team. We focused on the criteria matrix and space planning, so that we would be able to design a functional and logical floor plan. Our goal was to satisfy every employee’s needs in each department. I learned that dedication, and being a team player is very important when putting together such a large scale project. It taught me how to manage my time wisely. There were challanges that we had to overcome such as software issues and conflicting schedules but we pulled together as a team to put together a well organized project and presentation.

I redesigned the employee lounge and kitchen area all in Revit Architecture. The space was for collaborative work areas that included both open and independent spaces. The entire lounge has a wifi connection so that employee’s can feel free to work during their breaks. The color scheme was kept fairly light with wood grain textures and beautiful slate floors. Another responsibility I had was rendering all the floor plans and 3-D perspectives. During the project I realized that large scale projects included a lot of planning and programming. Our team focused on organization and the criteria matrix so that we could keep track of space planning so that we would end up having a strong floor plan. Communication played an important role between myself and my teammates but we made a system that worked for us and we achieved a successful project.

This is a rendering I did in my Architectural history class. Notre Dame has always fascinated me with its beautiful exterior and the over the top detailed interior. This was completely free hand with pen and ink. The Washington capital rendering was created when visiting and to show a part of who I am and where I grew up. The falling Water house was a rendering I created because Frank Lloyd Wright has always inspired me as a designer to think outside the box and embrace your creativity.

This wall detail section detail and cabiinet detail was completed in my advanced detailing class. This class was constructed to properly teach us how to create a details, such as cabinet sections, material transitions, drop ceilings and installations. These drawings were mostly done is Auto Cad but this particular detail was done by hand to help me better my drafting skills.

This 3-D rendering was designed in Sketch-up. An apartment loft inspiration designed for the Taylor Residence. Using a combination of traditional and contemporary styles, they wanted their living area to be a place of entertainment and realization. Sleek rectilinear lines lead your eye around this space. For the Taylor residence bathroom renovation the client wanted a Mediterranean influence with pops of blues and warm golds. They wanted an escape, somewhere that they could feel as though they were at a spa. The beautiful claw and ball tub is placed up on a platform where there is a beautiful view of nature. Warm lighting is complimented by a Moroccan style lantern that has a beautiful antique look that gives that great element to the space.
