Unauthorised assistance during any phase of the competition is forbidden. The following activities are some examples of unauthorised assistance: • Any outside help, whether solicited or not, by voice, sounds, signs or other indications designed to help a Competitor; • Any tampering with obstacles, marker flags, string or any other part of the show jumping or cross country courses; • Intentionally taking a lead from another Competitor in the cross country phase. However; • A Competitor who has fallen or dismounted may be assisted to catch his Horse, remount, or adjust saddlery and equipment; • A whip, headgear or spectacles may be handed to a Competitor; On the cross country course, fence judges are permitted to call out ‘first’ or ‘second’ refusal or to provide information whether jumping penalties have been incurred as the result of dislodging any part of a fence or its marker flags.

HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY The Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of every person present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser[s], officials and stewards. The Committee, Judges, Officials, BE Stewards and Technical Adviser have the responsibility for the implementation of the Safety Policy throughout this event and must ensure that Health and Safety Considerations are always given priority. TO MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC. All practicable steps are taken to ensure your health and safety and welfare whilst attending the event. You are required to take note of the following. a) To obtain a programme which contains a map showing the different parts of the event site b) Please take note of any fencing, stringing, whistle blasts from officials, public address announcements and signage displayed. And – this is a working farm – please use the bins provided or take your rubbish home. ALL DOGS ON A LEAD. Please clean up after your dogs. Any member of the public requiring first aid should go to the secretaries tent located by the show jumping where someone will call for assistance. ALL TERRAIN VEHICLES/motorcycles will NOT be permitted except those used by authorised officials. Mobility scooters are permitted but please contact the secretary upon arrival and we can assist with parking and viewing Contractors working at the Horse Trials are required to observe best working practices, comply with all legislation relevant to their business and take all reasonable and practical steps to safeguard their employees and all those attending the event. Exhibitors are responsible for the safety of their own stands and the risks that they may pose to other persons within the allocated space or immediate surrounding areas. This is subject to monitoring by the Safety Advisor. Disclaimer of Liability Except for the negligence of the organisers, or their agents or others for whom they in law are responsible, the organisers do not accept responsibility in respect of any accident, illness or disease caused to or suffered by any horse, owner, rider spectator, sponsor and others present at the site of the Event and their property and accoutrements. Reservation of Rights The Organisers have the power to: 1. cancel or divide any class or transfer competitors between sections of a class; 2. alter the advertised times; or 3. refuse any entry.
