DO KNOW BE 2012

We Believe

in serving and being used by God in various ways. Each summer we take students locally, across the country, and around the world as we partner with various ministries and missionaries to serve on missions trips. While we believe in the work and ministry that takes place on these trips, we also strongly believe that mission trips are a place of growth for students--spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. This summer is no different. We’ll be taking students on trips to both urban and rural settings and have them interacting with kids, teenagers and adults in those communities as well as with students from other churches. They will be serving by doing work projects, leading kids clubs and sports camps, helping lead summer camps for teenagers and more. Team members will have unique opportunities to develop relationships as they prepare to go and serve.

The following system is to help indicate which trips are available to each grade (2011-2012): 5

This summer we are partnering with a local church in Honduras. We’ll be joining a team of Honduran teenagers and working with them to minister to young children at an elementary school, helping to spruce up their school, and put on a camp for the church’s Hero’s Club program. It is sure to be a time where God will speak into your life, change your heart, and use you for His glory.

The hustle and bustle of Charleston—West Virginia’s capital city—stands in contrast to other more rural towns nestled in the Appalachian Mountains. But the city still maintains the rugged beauty and relaxed, comfortable pace that characterizes West Virginia. Our group will primarily serve children’s programs and local ministries.

Letters due April 9 Marvell is a small town with an abundance of personality and love. Located in the Delta, the area has seen some of the worst poverty in all of the United States. Our goal will be to bring people together and show them the love of Christ as we serve through Kids ClubŽ which offers high-energy games, crafts, skits, songs and interactive lessons all designed to help kids learn about Jesus. Our group may also have the opportunity to work with Outrageous Sports Camps – a ministry designed as an outreach to youth ages 9-13. We will do home improvements by refreshing the exterior of a house with a new coat of paint. These projects will bring real hope and an opportunity to share the love of Christ.

Be a part of this amazing mission trip where we serve in our own community. Often we fail to notice all the needs that are all around us. On this trip we will serve the needy right here in Grand Rapids. We will partner with urban ministries that are reaching out to those in need. Don’t miss out on this life-changing experience.
