I’m really pleased to be able to welcome you to this year’s festival, and pray you have an amazing week as we celebrate the Creator together. Now in our third year at the Royal Cornwall Showground, as a week-long event; Creation Fest aims to offer something for the whole family. The morning teaching sessions will follow the theme of Out of the Darkness and into the Light, a study through 1 Peter, as we continue to focus on helping Christians in their walk and relationship with Jesus. We desire that everyone leaves this week stronger and more effective in their faith. An exciting change for this year is an upgrade to venue size and programme of The Zone; a dedicated youth venue where young people can come for great teaching, worship, seminars and Truthology workshop led by the Urban Mission team. We also want to encourage you to attend the ‘Movies After-Dark’ - a late night movie to enjoy after main stage shut-down, in the new Showcase Café. The line-up of bands for Creation Fest 2011 is I feel the best ever, with a wide range of artists from all over the world. Whether you’re a fan of rock, hip-pop, soul, pop, R’n’B, acoustic, or dance – we hope to have something for everyone. We have also aimed to improve the sporting and activities programme for 2011, alongside the always popular skate park and Kids Club. Please continue to look through this programme to get a complete picture of the week ahead. I hope to meet as many of you as possible, and wish you a blessed time. Phil Pechonis Festival Director

About Creation Fest Creation Fest is a FREE Christian Music Festival and Bible Week held at the Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge. Admission is free - simply turn up and enjoy!

welcome

Welcome from Phil Pechonis, Festival Director

Creation Fest exists to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ through contemporary Christian music and the explaining of God’s Word, the Bible. We desire to see: Christians established in the basic truths of the Christian faith, the authority of Scripture proclaimed, and churches brought together in unity. Creation Fest started in the summer of 2002 in Woolacombe, North Devon, as a one-day event. It soon developed into a 3-day festival. Then in 2009 Creation Fest moved to the Royal Cornwall Showground, and extended into a full 7-day music festival and Bible week. Creation Fest serves the people of South West England, as well as people from all around the UK and beyond. As well as the main annual festival, Creation Fest organises mini-festivals and roadshows. SPEAKERS 8

Morning Session Speakers in the Big Shed Brian Brodersen

Joey Rozek

Michael Smith

Simon Lawrenson

Brian has been involved in pastoral ministry for almost 30 years. He has served as Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Vista, in Southern California, and also as Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Westminster, London. Brian has been extensively involved in missionary work throughout parts of Europe. He now serves as Associate Pastor to Chuck Smith, at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, California. Brian is the featured speaker on the Bible teaching programme ‘Back to Basics’. He is known for his clear and challenging exposition of the Scriptures. Brian and his wife Cheryl have four children and four grandchildren.

Joey came to know the Lord in his youth and immediately developed a passion for the Word of God. He served as a youth pastor and then taught Evangelism and Apologetics, until the Lord called him to New Jersey. There, Joey oversaw the youth and young adult ministries, where his influence spread to hundreds of teens and young adults as a Bible teacher, conference speaker, evangelist and host of the live radio programme called “Live Wire”. After leading teams on missions trips to Europe, Joey answered God’s call to move to Cambridge, England, where he now serves as the pastor with his wife and three children.

Grew up in Florida with an interesting mix - his dad was a Baptist and his mum a buddhist (from Thailand). He graduated in 1994 with a degree in biology, and also became a Christian. He met his wife Kristyn in London, and then moved to California to serve as a youth pastor. In 2005, God opened a door in Santa Rosa, where he took over pastoring a 4-month-old church. After almost 4 years, God made it clear that Michael was to begin a new work in southern California, teaching zoology at Vanguard University and teaching the Saturday night study at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.

Simon is the Pastor at Calvary Chapel Southampton, which he founded 8 years ago. In addition to pastoring a vibrant and growing church community, he is a musician working full-time in a secondary school. Simon has a passion to see young leaders raised up for church planting in the UK. He is married to Lorrie, and they have four beautiful daughters.

Steve Vickery

Robert Prendergast

He is a graduate of Manchester University and Calvary Chapel Bible College, and believes passionately in teaching and proclaiming the truth of God's Word. Steve married his wife, Amber, in June 2009.

Robert is the other half of the rap group Ministri of Defence (MOD). With a passion for Christ, MOD has an intense commitment to grassroots ministry. This commitment has led them to plant a church in South London and its outreach ministry, Urban Mission.

Bryce Heard came to England in 2000 to plant a Church in Mansfield. His heart for mission has led him to start Bible studies in other towns in Nottinghamshire, as well as taking him further afield to be used by God to proclaim Christ in other countries. Bryce has been married for 11 years and has 4 daughters.

MORNING SESSIONS This year’s main morning teaching sessions, in the Big Shed, will follow the theme of Out of the Darkness and into the Light - a study through 1 Peter. Worship will be led by: Scott Cunningham Bluetree Ian Yates Ken Riley Start times: 10.00 and 11.30

Cheryl Brodersen

John Brown

Jasmine Alnutt

Tim Street

Cheryl grew up at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in California, during what became known as the Jesus Movement. She witnessed first-hand how the Lord used her parents, Chuck and Kay Smith, to capture the hearts and minds of hippies in the late 1960s and 1970s. Cheryl married the love of her life, Brian Brodersen, at the age of 20. Together they have ministered in Costa Mesa, Vista and London. Cheryl enjoys teaching at women’s studies, retreats, and the weekly Joyful Life Bible study at Costa Mesa. Brian and Cheryl has four children and four grandchildren.

Being raised in an irreligious home, John was living a life characterized by self-destruction, sin & despair. At the age of 18, he heard the straightforward good news about the Lord who loved him and was radically changed. After graduating from Bible college, he met & married a beautiful, young woman who radiated the love of Jesus. John and Sarah have just celebrated 20 years of marriage and have been blessed with 5 children. After 13 years of fruitful ministry to youth and university students, John and his family moved to Norwich, and planted Servant’s Church, where he is the pastor.

Jasmine is from the beautiful state of Washington, USA and graduated from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, with a degree in Spanish. She also attended Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, California, where she eventually served as Dean of Women for several years before moving to London, to serve as a missionary for a year. Jasmine currently assists with the women’s ministry at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and continues to teach church history and Bible classes at Calvary Chapel Bible College.

Tim gained a degree in Electrical Engineering at Imperial College, London, and worked for 5 years in the Electronics industry. He subsequently taught Science, Physics and Electronics in schools and Sixth Form College for 27 years. Although he had to teach evolutionary ideas as part of the syllabus, he struggled with the apparent conflict between Science and the Bible. Now after much thought, reading, discussion and prayer, he rejects Evolution and holds firmly to Creation. His talks will explain why, and how as a consequence it has strengthened his faith in God.

Dave Shirley

Matt Kottman

Rob Dingman

Damian Velarde

Director of Calvary Chapel Bible College, Murrieta, California. Dave graduated from Columbia International University with a BA in Biblical Education and from University of Southern California with a Masters in Education. He was pastor of Calvary Chapel Fayetteville, North Carolina from 1979-99.

Matt Kottman pastors Calvary Chapel Leatherhead in Surrey. He has been involved in international church planting and pastoral ministry for almost 15 years. Matt enjoys time with his family, reading, and running.

Rob is the pastor of Calvary Chapel Twickenham and can be heard daily on Calvary Chapel Radio. Originally from Seattle, Rob began travelling with a Christian rock band in the '80s and has been a missionary for 20 years in Japan, Germany and England. He is married with two children and lives in London.

Damian is the pastor of Calvary Chapel in Exeter. He is married to Sandra and they have five children. Damian has a passion to see fellow believers walk in the fulness of their identity in Christ.
