FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who should apply for financial assistance? • The simple answer is that anyone who cannot afford the full tuition amount of $20,500 (standard program) and $29,575 (La Salle Program) should submit a FACTS application for consideration. Financial Aid does not have to be repaid.

How do I apply for Financial Aid and what is the deadline? • Complete the FACTS Grant and Aid Application: www.calverthall.com/facts

The application period is from October 1, 2024 – December 20, 2024. There is a $35 processing fee to complete the application.

Does my son need to apply for scholarships and/or meritbased or specific interest awards? • No! By simply submitting the admissions application, all candidates for admission are automatically considered for all merit-based and specific interest scholarships and grants offered by Calvert Hall. Our admissions committee makes decisions on merit-based and specific interest awards upon review of a highly-competitive applicant pool. Your family will be notified of any scholarships and/or grants that have been awarded to the student at the time of his acceptance to Calvert Hall.

How is my son’s Financial Aid determined? • Many factors go into the determination of your son’s need-based Financial Aid. The application is designed to capture your financial position and the award is based on several factors including the number of applications received and the amount of resources available, so it is important to fill out your application carefully.

Will all of my financial needs be met? • Calvert Hall strives to make a LaSallian education available to all applicants. Financial Aid is provided through the generosity of alumni, parents, friends, and income generated from Calvert Hall’s endowment. In determining awards, we attempt to respond to and meet the needs of as many families as possible.

What happens if I’m past the application deadline of December 20th? • After the deadline, we will still accept applications, however they are reviewed on a rolling basis. Funding is maximized during the regular application review process. After December 20th, only remaining funds are distributed. We strongly encourage you to submit your application prior to the deadline each year.

Do I need to apply for Financial Aid each year? • Yes, if you received a need-based award, you must submit a FACTS Grant and Aid application annually in order for their son’s grant to be renewed. Since a family’s economic and financial circumstances change from year to year, our finance committee must review the family’s financial need qualifications each year.

How do I find out if my son received Financial Aid? • Your Financial Aid will be reflected on your son’s enrollment/ re-enrollment contract.

Are there additional fees? • Yes. In addition to tuition, there are up to 3 additional fees that families incur. We use the FACTS payment management system as our payment administrator. There are fees required for certain payment plans. Other costs include some textbooks, fees required for some sports and activities, and there may be optional activities with fees associated.

• $200 yearly registration fee for all students to be paid at the time of registration

• $200 retreat fee for all students
