Deliver financial plan for next five (minimum) to ten (maximum) years to gear towards achieving the key goals being targeted in the educational plan.
Deliver Master Capital Development to include major asset management, repair and maintenance programme for property and grounds and an associated asset replacement reserve. • Be aware of, and plan functionally towards the impact of, a new Federal government funding model for independent schools and any changes to the WA funding model. • Audit the ITC processes and infrastructure (servers, network, security, disaster recovery, wireless, client management, staff structure and buy in from curriculum to produce an ICT Strategic Plan. • Continue to develop strategies, efficiencies and procedures to keep College fee rises to a minimum (including the increasing of sources of non-fee income). • Enhance scholarship offerings across the College. • Further develop an environmental friendly approach to all aspects of the College’s operations, including a Sustainability Policy. I was contracted by Carve Business Solutions to produce a unique line of functional products serving a variety of Mining Companies in Australia and around the world.
FOR THE WORKER
Ultimate Mine Games (UMG’s) are a key tool in our For the Worker program. UMG’s have been utilised in many Australian mining projects as well as an international project where English was not the workers’ first language. This product WAS endorsed by Australian wide mining regulators.
PERFORMANCE TOOLS
UMG’s are performance tools that use principles and structures based on the metaphors of elite sports.
This product was a highly effective communication tool which enhanced understanding and commitment of required work activities. UMG’s provided a clear foundation and knowledge structure in organisations to establish people performance improvement through greater accountability, greater purpose and better problem solving capability.
UMG’s related directly to the work task that employees have to conduct. Carve designed aspects such as tips and tricks to emphasize the relevance to the people.
DESIGNED FOR MAXIMUM UPTAKE
Unfortunately when we try to educate people about their safety they often switch off. This is because of relevance. UMG’s were specifically designed for maximum uptake by employees. This is achieved by:
• Choosing the shortest words that match the meaning;
• Simplifying long words when possible;
• Removing textual clutter –which can bury true meaning;
• Actively monitor readability with Fry’s index and other tools. The aim is to keep UMG’s to Years 4 and 6 Primary School readability and sometimes even lower;
• Maximum use of related visuals such as diagrams and video for high risk roles. The use of colours to create interest; and
• Utilising web based structures rather than standard report styles, removing all information a worker does not need to do the job.
