When the kids started reading the book “Diary of a Wombat” by Jackie French, they had no idea of what or who this little creature was. Soon, they found out that wombats are an Australian animal full of curiosities. Reading its diary, the students learnt about its routine, eating habits and how clever and messy it is. Some videos complemented the information and after each new discovery, the students fell in love with it. The involvement was so expressive, that the initial scope expanded, resulting on the project “Our Book about the Wombat”, written and illustrated by the students, telling us what they learned about the wombat. As the students on the beginning of the project, we concluded that many people may not know our beloved pet and because we believe that good stories need to be told, our discoveries are revealed here!
