“Fabulous” Falls Creek Snowsports Family Week Monday 4 July to Friday 8 July (or Sunday 10 July - see details below) This popular skiing and snowboarding week is once again being organised for the second week of the July school holidays at Falls Creek, the most reliable Victorian snow resort. NB. Statistically, over the last 20 years, the second week of the July School Holidays has usually been one of the best weeks of snow for the season. The week is open to children of all CGS families and their friends. Your actual involvement can be as little or as much as your family desires. Some enjoyable social activities will also be happening for those who wish. Siblings and children’s friends are most welcome to participate. Lift and Lesson Packages – IMPORTANT COVID19 INFORMATION!! At this stage, we are unsure whether the Lift and Lesson Packages, that have been available in the past, will be available this year. We are in communication with Falls Creek and will pass on any information, as it comes to hand to those who register an interest in attending the week. Regardless of what happens with the Lift and Lesson Packages, Falls Creek Family Week will be going ahead (COVID19 permitting of course). Accommodation/Supervision Please note that students need to be accommodated with and be under the care and supervision of at least one parent, adult guardian during the week. Accommodation needs to be individually organised by families attending and it is very much advisable to do this as soon as possible. Booking options are provided below. Please note that the cost varies widely depending on whether you want budget lodge style, through self-catered apartments to premium accommodation. It is strongly recommended that you ensure any bookings made are fully refundable or travel insurance is taken that covers any cancellation costs. Further Important Information (especially for those thinking of staying from Monday 4 July to Sunday 10 July) The race trials event for CGS Snowsports team selection for the Victorian Interschools Snowsports Championships is held at Falls Creek on the weekend immediately following Family Week ie. Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July. If your son is going to be a member of the CGS Snowsports team this year and you will be attending Family Week in the week prior, then you will need to consider this when making your accommodation booking i.e. you will need to book for this weekend as well as the five days. Alternatively, if you are NOT going to be part of the CGS Snowsports team this year and you wish to stay for the weekend, then your family may choose to participate in some fun racing activities that will be organised in conjunction with the race trials. Again, this is all COVID19 permitting of course.
