Parent Guide to Schoology

Page 1

Tips for Parents using Schoology – Viewing your Son’s Progress Schoology is playing an increasingly important role in the learning of our students and in teachers’ communication with parents. Because teachers provide written feedback to students via Schoology on a continual basis about their learning, no written comments will be provided by subject teachers in semester reports. So now, parents are able to monitor the progress of their son(s) regularly, in real time, rather than wait until the end of the semester. A reminder about how parents access Schoology Parent Access to Schoology is designed to be ‘view only’ access. That is, it enables you to see your son’s Courses and Groups and to see exactly the same information that your son can see. This means you will be able to view: 

Course updates, information posted on the Materials Page as well as you son’s results and his teacher’s comments

This also means you do not need any Course or Group Access Codes to see your son’s activity in any part of Schoology – you will always see exactly what your son can see via his account.

Initiating Parent Access 1. From the internet, log into https://schoology.vic.edu.au and, when prompted, enter your School User ID (xxxxx@cgs.vic.edu.au) and your password.
