WELCOME Friends of Snowsports (FOS) aims to promote skiing and snowboarding within Camberwell Grammar School, and CGS provides boys interested in the sport the opportunity to participate in a varied program of events. In the second week of the Term Two holidays the school conducts a family Snowsports week where CGS families stay at Falls Creek Mountain. The focus for this week is to create a fun and supportive community and is open to experienced and first-time skiers and their families. The focus of the winter season is the preparation for the Victorian Interschool Snowsports Championships held in August. This information book is provided to assist you in planning for the season. Whether you are a first timer or have been part of the Snowsports team for some time, our aim is to bring the boys and their families together for an exciting season ahead. In addition to this initial information kit, we are committed to regularly sharing updates and information to help you plan your activities and to encourage high participation in all our events throughout the year. All official school activities for the boys - from training, qualifying events, and interschool competition – will be sent from the Snowsports School Masters Mr. Ian March who is responsible for Snowsports coordination and Mr. Michael Heyes who is responsible for Family Week organisation. We encourage families to join the Friends of Snowsport group and we will keep you across social events, the family week event at Falls Creek in July, and other activities. Please use the CGS Snowsports site as your main source of information https://cgssnowsports.weebly.com/ Clearly, there are still many uncertainties to how the snow resorts plan to run the season, but we commit to relaying information as soon as it is received. Looking forward to hitting the slopes Friends of Snowsports

FAMILY WEEK & CAMBERWELL CUP A highlight of the year, Family Week is held in the last week of Term 2 holidays running from Monday-Friday 5-9 July. The Camberwell Cup and race training is held on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th July. Family Week is open to all CGS boys, their families, and friends. It is the intention, like past years, that group lessons will be arranged. However, due to uncertainty around COVID restrictions on the mountain it is unlikely we will be able to secure group Lift and Lesson packages as we previously have. We are keeping across updates from Falls Creek on lift pass access and we will share this with you as it becomes available. FOS are proceeding with planning activities throughout the week to ensure this remains a fantastic event for the CGS community. The Camberwell Cup is run on the following weekend and is open to boys, their siblings, and parents. All boys who wish to participate in Interschools can. This event is compulsory for boys who have chosen Snowsports as their winter sport. This is a very social and fun week, and we encourage you to attend.
