The Cambridge Companion to the Singer-Songwriter arises from my involvement in teaching popular music at HEA level. Many music students are budding singer-songwriters themselves, and are faced with a shortage of critical literature when researching the idiom. This edited collection (co-edited with Justin A. Williams) goes beyond the biographies of singersongwriters that exist, by critiquing and analysing singer-songwriter scenes, tropes and movements.
