TEMPIO DI MINERVA/
PROGRAM:
SPONTANEOUS ENCYCLOPEDIA : CULTURAL HUB: Library, work station, Historical ruins brought to life, Conecting TERMINI with PORTA MAGGIORE with a huge linear park, being the center of attraction Minerva Temple.
A.BUILDING THE COMMON SPACE : As a physical and FLEXIBLE city-space where human activities such as leisure, work, passions, curiosity, art & culture, come together.
Site / Roma, Italia.
B. RESTORE ROME´S HISTORIC TEMPLE: Sightseeing rooftop, Spiral ramp, central transparent elevator and platforms that connect people with ancient walls and windows., Brigning the building back to life with an activity that binds the community together.
Area / KM park, project
C. LINEAR PARK: As a pedestrian path & Sports/ leisure cityscape , connecting TERMINI with PORTA MAGGIORE
SPONTANEOUS ENCYCLOPEDIA The project proposal in characterised by creating a series of dynamic spaces and atmospheres all along a circled path in the interior of MINERVA TEMPLE, which enables the visitor to discover and experience the ancient monument from new perspectives, without having a direct contact with its walls. We understand that for it to respond to the concept of common space, it has to develop a program in which peolple share (certain activities, thoughts), meet and interact with each other. This is why, our proposal is based on the idea of a “spontaneous encyclopedia” which above all represents sharing knowledge , by introducing the concept of bookcrossing, though which, according to the level of iinteraction of people, the building will become more or less dinamic.
just let themselves flow though the dinamic experience of books travelling along the central structure. In other words, we create a hybrid space, where work, leisure and culture come together. Situated in a strategic and central spot, of the city of Rome, -anyhow completely forgotten due to the lack of space for people to access the site on foot- ; we decided to bring it back to life by designing a huge piazza that will connect Porta maggiore with Termini. This urban intervention, will result on a wide open space at ground level for the project and a green link that would favour outdoor activities along an interactive parcours.
We also intend to creat spaces where people can have a seat and read, places where work meetings take place, have a rest, or 32

ADAPTIVE LAB / Stage B
INSTITUTE OF ENERGY -URBAN LAB : Energy harvest lab. exhibition centre, wellness centre.
ORIGAMI STRUCTURE 50% stressed Varying flow of space
Site / Peter street, soho,
PETER STREET
THE LAB - Main concept
MATERIALS
Located in the swamped heart of Soho lies Peter Street, a dead- end narow street. Main characteristic regarding the neighborhood, is its multiplicity of use, such as theatre, art, local fresh markets, red zone, schools, police department, all living in a surprisingly tunned agreement.
Neo- natural narratives, can be stimulated by culture, and give birth to spaces that can be transformed through time. Interactive and adaptative areas can generate infinite spaces, and mediate between biology and technology.
So as to address the concept of change, adaptability and interaction, we started studying what they all truly mean. By this, we began studying different forms and materials that could express this input-output relationship. We began to study an origami surface and its warp spectrum by means of different materials. Behavior, flexibility, adaptability and resilience, with an origami as the modular structure. Input: HUMAN ENERGY (pressure, movement, temperature, strength) Output: elastic breathable skin, expands and contracts, reflects light, etc.
On the other hand, Labs are Spaces where innovation arrises and takes place in a controlled field. The reconfiguration of the lab Typology, with respond in a way to the exhuberance and resistance of the city, combining the perfect and caotic of everytdaylife.
Stage A ORIGAMI STRUCTURE 0% stressed Fragmented space
40
Stage C ORIGAMI STRUCTURE 100% stressed Fully flowing space

ARDUINO We implemented arduino, in order to achieve the interaction between human energy and this flexible skin meant for covering the LAB’S ceiling. We made it work with 2 different input systems and their corresponding output.
42
1. Pressure sensor : activates the programmed servo motor rotation which in consequence generates the movement and warping of the origami structure / skin. 2. Motion sensor: Led lights are turned on gradually while sensing larger amounts of static energy. (Meaning getting static energy
close to the sensor, getting the hand closer would result into all of the 10 led lights to shimmer).
