Hotel Immersivo’s design concept arose from the question: What does a hotel for the new generation look like? To which we answered Rest + Play. The program intends to work for the new generation adjusting for the current needs of the people. The concept is a crossprogram between a hotel and an interactive art gallery.

Located on the La Chua Trail near the Alachua Sink, the Florida Landscape project welcomes hydrologists and scientists with the purpose of investigation and education & stay and rest. The structure is composed of a series of three modules extending further into the Alachua Sink. The three modules serve three different purposes: rest, education, and observation. The rest module provides the occupants of a space to rest and stay overnight. The education module allows the occupants a space to study the water. The observation module provides the occupants with a space to stand still, observe and appreciate their surroundings. Nature was the generator that designed the architecture of the structure. The architecture is designed in a way that allows its occupants to connect with the natural surroundings.

It’s a misty morning. The hydrologist wakes up to the sound of the rain tapping on the aluminum roof. Tip Tap. 6 am. The sun’s rays shine in through the window between the wall and the roof. Puts on the scuba gear and walks towards the stairs. Walks past the laboratory and sense the smell of wet dirt. One step. Two steps. The buzzing of mosquitos and dragonflies cloud the mind. As the hydrologist approaches the viewing station, the beauty of the prairie overwhelms. Jumps in the water and is embraced by the muddy waters. Realizes the water level has risen. Time to examine the rainwater. Walks to towards the laboratory; the rainwater trickles from the roof into the vessel. Diagrammatic Studies
