New seafaring seat | boat club Piacenza Po river, 2012 Prof_Gianmaria Sforza Fogliani

40

The project area is localized on the bank of Po river, In Piacenza. Even if the site is near the historical center, the landscape is completely different due to the relationship between the natural elements and the infrastructures, like the two bridges, the viaduct and some abandoned buildings, which cut the connection between the city and the river. The contrasrt between the two part is very strong and in some cases it seems like to be in an almoust abandoned place. However the presence of the boating club and the different sporting services give to the landspace, despite the several negative aspetcs, values and potentialities. Te new boat blub and seafaring seat is a way to help the area and to give new life to the riverbank. the project is totally open to the river and is composed by two buildnigs. The ďŹ rst building has a direct access from the raod, is raised from the ground by a steel structure and inside hosts the ofďŹ ces, and a classroom for theoretical lesson. The second building is on a lower level, reachable by stairs or a big ramp, it hosts a cafĂŠ and a warehouse for the kayaks and canoes.

Urban rehabilitation of the aqueduct | Urban connection of Sao Bento Lisbon Rua do Arco a Sao Mamede, 2014 Prof_JosĂŠ Aguiar

N 0

20

40

The project starts with an analysis about the old aquectuct of Lisbon, built in the XVIII century, thinking how to reuse it and how to value it. The idea is to connect Largo do Rato with Sao Bento district intervering in n some spots to creare a new connection line parallel to Rua Sao Bento. The project principally focuses on two areas, an old parking lot beside Rua da Escola Politécnica and an old garden with a abandoned villa called Chalet Daupiás in Rua Arco a Sao Mamede. In the first spot is mantained part of the parking lot for the citizens and the other space is use to create a new garden and a new square in front an old industrial building with sheds used to create a new district market for the neighborhood. This new area is connected with Rua Arco a Sao Bento trhough a catwalk which pass on the old path of the aqueduct and creates also new accesses for some house with back doors. The old garden in Rua Arco a S.Bento is completely restored, with the creation of a water sqare and a new terraced garden with tropical trees like the old garden of Chalet Daupiás. The villa and another abandoned house inside the garden are rehabilitated and restored to be a new town hall and a youth center for cultural activities.

A new artistic center inside an old Abattoir Madrid MATADERO _Centro de creacìon contemporànea, 2014 XXIV Concurso iberico de soluções costrutivas_PLADUR competition

N 0

20

40

The project stems from the need for a space completely free and versatile. The primary purpose is not to change the essence of the place deciding on functional host cells capable to integrating with the existing context. The interior of the former slaughterhouse is to be a place with great potential, as free, empty, without partitions and characterized by a "forest of columns". The principals problems are the extension of space and the reduced height between oors which determinate a problem of light especially for the center of the building. The idea of the project is based on the integration of mobile units, differentiated for different functions to optimize the light in relationship of the work that the usershave to do. The mobility also promotes the possibility of aggregation of the functional cells and promote the collaboration and interaction between many users. Slaughterhouse space varies with the organization of the artists who live the space and the distribution of the housing units and the work units is based on the collaboration that could be between the types of artists: architect, designers or musicians, photographers, sculptors and painters.

Theaters district Milan Piazzale Accursio, 2015 Prof_Guya Bertelli

N 0 20

40

The project is localized in Piazzale Accursio, a big urban hub on Viale Certosa, which connect Sempione with the EXPO area. The strategy start with the idea of the city like a labyrinth made by empty spaces, unused courtyards and urban voids. From here grow up the necessity to connect all these spaces, making a system of paths that goes inside the urban lots. The concept has been used to all the urban area of Viale Certosa untill Piazzale Accursio, the core of the project, a new thatre district for Milan. Here has been re-used an old gas station, in which there is the ticket ofďŹ ce, a bookshop, a cafĂŠ and an exposition space. From the gas station start a pedestrial bridge which reach a glass building that represent a urban scenography like an open museum that shows the old sets design. The glass diaphragm is also the distribution space to reach the four hypogeum theaters. The theaters are totally different between them, every theater has also a tipical seat that characterize the space and the way to appreciate the show.
