EVERYWHERE! We are not limited by rhetoric and prior learning, we can help those around us with our vibration, with our words, and with channeled healing energy. You may have a specific method of delivering the energy for the receiver’s highest good, or you are just recently called to this work – in either case, we’ll break from tradition and construct rejuvenation bombs, uplifting electricity, battery boosts, and healing orbs.

As we move through our daily lives, we work with or we are subjected to energy. Consciously and subconsciously, we are always sending and receiving. We’ll discuss what we might be impacting the world around us as we work with these energy creations:  Are there Karmic implications of this energy work? It is our duty!  How do you maintain it or strengthen it? Development and Utilization!  I don’t feel it – is it working? Yes! Alexander Zielinski reflects on the phrase, “YOU are a healer”. This phrase has often frightened and carried the entire weight of existence with it. Often reluctant in adolescence, Alex has been practicing some form of energy healing since childhood.

However, through the study of a variety of belief and energy systems found methods to further develop his understanding of energy.

Shamanic Arts: Down the Rabbit Hole into a Shamanic Journey with Susan A. Remek, Ph.D. 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Chapel Basement Séance Room Preregister by June 30th: $25 After June 30th: $35 Overview By listening to monotonous forms of percussion, Shamans the world over have entered into trance-like states and experienced other worlds of non-ordinary reality.

This experience in altered consciousness – the Shamanic Journey – is thought to be the world’s oldest spiritual practice. Because it affords moments of direct revelation, the journey can be used to solve problems, obtain healing, acquire information, access guidance, and obtain help for others. In this beginner’s workshop, we’ll use a variety of percussion instruments to do one directed, one guided, and two freestyle journeys.

We’ll seek out our Power Animals and our Teachers or Mentors, and we’ll look for answers to two personal questions. Time will be provided for feedback and sharing, but the primary emphasis in this workshop will be on learning by doing.

You should bring a mat or blanket for lying on the floor and writing instruments for notes. For best results with personal inquiries, you are encouraged to write down and bring with you tow open-ended questions of the “who”, “what”, “how”, and “where” variety (i.e., “why” and “when” questions are discouraged for this format). Handouts with additional information and tips for private work will be provided.

Susan Remek learned to journey while studying shamanism and energy medicine with the Four Winds Society, and she graduated from the group’s Light Body School in 2016. Impressed with the power of the journey technique, she studied the methods of a range of modern shamanic practitioners, settling on the “core shamanism” of Michael Harner as perhaps the best way to introduce Westerners to the “Rabbit Hole”. Trained in literature and religion, she earned a Ph.D. at the University of Chicago for work in Spirituality and Literature.

While the physiological function of the pineal gland has largely been unknown until recent times, mystical and esoteric teachings have long know this area in the middle of the brain to be the connecting link between the physical and spiritual worlds. At only the size of a grain of rice, this all-important master endocrine gland is responsible for, and holds the key to, unlocking spiritual and clairvoyant gifts, commonly known as the “Third Eye” or sixth chakra.

“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” (Matthew 6:22) Workshop will include overview of man’s historical and current perception of the pineal gland, discussion on function and role in human physiology, review of every day culprits of glandular calcification and impacts, and finally, techniques and strategies of often practiced to defend and maintain this energy center.

Today, people are rediscovering this ages-old method of meditation. And with that, Knitting Meditation was born!

In this workshop, I will introduce the first, very basic knitting stitch and teach it to all who want to learn. I will also share some pointers to help those who are already into the craft. I will then expand on how the repetitive motion of the stitches transfers into simple meditations that can be done anywhere while knitting. I will provide patterns for items that encourage this form of meditation. Since self-care of the body is also an important component of positive health, we will finish the program by doing some simple yoga moves that strengthen and support the muscles and joints used while knitting. The program will merge knitting as meditation and yoga for the brain with yoga for the body as well! Truly improving both body and soul!

Students are encouraged to bring their own supplies of yarn, needles and a yoga mat. However, samples of yarn and needles will be available for use during the workshop.

Dr. Mary Hooten-Bivens is a retired history professor as well as a Hospice Registered Nurse. She has been a student at Camp Chesterfield since 2012. Mary became a Medium Missionary last fall. In addition to her studies at Chesterfield, she has also been taking a course of study in Pastoral Care and Therapeutic Counseling. She volunteers as both a lay minister and hospice caregiver in the Muncie community. A Grief Share Facilitator, she continues to work with hospice in a variety of ways. Mary learned to knit from her German grandmother over fifty years ago. It has since provided a great deal of pleasure and accomplishment. She has made hundreds of hats and sweaters as well as prayer shawls for local knitting ministries. Mary also designs and makes her own lace clothing and blankets as well.

Overview Smudging is a common practice among many cultures including Native Americans. However, it is sometimes misunderstood. This workshop explores the custom as it pertains to Native culture. We will also examine the use of the Medicine Wheel in this practice.

Participants will then have the opportunity to construct their own smudge fans! Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring special items such as crystals or feathers to make your fan uniquely yours. After the smudge fans are completed, I will walk the group through how I constructed my sample Medicine Wheel on the classroom floor. With music and instruments provided, the group will collectively bless the structure. The workshop will then culminate with a blessing of our fans and an opportunity to offer up prayers and concerns collectively at the Medicine Wheel. Prepare for a fun, interactive experience!

It is their primary way of expressing Ayni, or “sacred reciprocity” with the universe. To create a despacho, a shaman endows materials with spiritual energy, adds to these items the specific energetic concerns of those for whom the despacho is made and arranges the whole into a mandala-like structure that, when sent forth or “dispatched”, will carry human aspirations and intentions into the invisible, energetic realms. Whether constructed for an individual or for a community, a properly “dispatched” despacho effects an energetic shift in the fabric of the cosmos. It is one of the shaman’s most powerful tools for manifesting and for restoring balance and harmony to the universe.

In this workshop, you will both learn about the symbolic materials and basic types of despachos and also have your personal desires and concerns actively addressed by participating in a despacho ceremony yourself. You may use your newly acquired skills to create despachos for private use and for the concerns of others, or with your cultural experience broadened, you may simply return to your customary rituals with an awakened awareness of the different ways in which universal elements of prayer can emerge in different traditions.

It is presented as a two-part workshop with each part consisting of three hours. Everything you desire is on the other side of Forgiveness for forgiveness is the mystical key that opens the gate to the pathway of unity to the Source of all. When properly understood, forgiveness dissolves fear in all its manifestations.

Session One: Attendees are given the tools to unlearn everything they currently know of forgiveness. For true forgiveness includes letting go of even those subtle judgments that blind our eyes to the Truth.
