Planning the Perfect Camping Trip In order to maximize the amount of fun you have on a camping trip, you need to spend an adequate amount of time planning your trip beforehand. This will ensure you are well prepared to spend an extended amount of time in the wilderness. If you are not prepared for every aspect of your camping trip, you may become uncomfortable and will not have as much fun as you should.

Correct Gear The single most important thing you can do when planning a camping trip is to make sure you are packing the correct gear. With the right camping gear in tow, you will be well prepared for whatever Mother Nature wants to throw at your while you are on your trip. Paying close attention to weather reports before you go on your camping trip will ensure you pack the correct clothes, sleeping bag and other essentials to have a comfortable trip. If you are too hot or cold while camping because you did not properly prepare, you could wind up ruining your trip all together.

Cooking Utensils An often overlooked aspect of a camping trip is the cooking utensils you bring with you to prepare your food. While most people will plan the meals they are going to have on their camping trip well in advance of leaving their home, some people do not think about all of the utensils they will need in order to prepare and eat their food. When you have the proper cooking utensils, it is much easier to prepare and enjoy your food while you are camping, further increasing your enjoyment of your camping trip.

Also, remember to bring something to clean your cooking utensils with too unless you are using disposable utensils. The last thing you would want to have happen is to get sick because you did not clean your cooking utensils thoroughly between uses. Making

Tell Someone Where you are Going Telling someone, a friend or family member, where you are going camping is a wise idea just in case something happens to you while you are out in the woods. While you may think you are well prepared to spend an extended period of time in the woods, you can never be certain as to what will happen once you are out there, especially if you are going to be camping in inclement weather. By telling someone you are close with that you are going to go camping for a few days, they will be able to alert the proper authorities if they do not hear from you when they think you should have already returned.

If you are well prepared to enter the woods and have experience camping, chances are pretty good that you will not run into any issues. However, it is always best to prepared and telling someone you know that you will be going away for a few days will help ensure your safety and possibly save your life in the event of an emergency.
