At Traditional Camp, campers explore all that Rockfish has to offer of God’s nature in the NC Sandhills. Our small groups of 12-16 campers, 2 counselors, and 2 support staff create a close-knit atmosphere and allows campers to have a unique experience every time they visit Rockfish. Campers grow closer to each other and closer in their relationship with God. Experiencing the wonders of God’s creation, campers spend one of their nights under the stars tent camping! Under their counselor’s guidance, each group cooks dinner over a campfire. Campers truly get back to basics in the unplugged outdoors. Whether they are here for the first time or their fifth summer, your camper is sure to have a great time exploring all the activities available including: the climbing tower, swimming pool, lake toys, archery, campfires, parflesnarf, Bible studies, tetherball, arts and crafts, nightly worship, and more.

New this year: We’re adding some velocity to our daily schedule – for the first time Camp Rockfish is adding KNEEBOARDING and TUBING to our water activities. Both are an excellent and safe way to get campers more comfortable in aquatic surroundings. Plus, campers will find a whole new way to express themselves with our brand new DRAMA activity! Campers will play games to help them learn acting basics, and will have the opportunity to perform their skits and songs during all-camp worship.

Survivor

Ages 13-16 June 10-16 $ 465

This is a unique program for the older, more experienced camper and those looking for a challenge. Campers will come together and accomplish goals through the use of ingenuity, teamwork and thinking ‘outside-the-box’. Campers backpack into more remote locations on Camp Rockfish property to spend the bulk of their week. The group works as a team to accomplish pre-determined goals. They soon realize that they can only accomplish these goals by working together. When campers reach each goal, they are rewarded with an added “creature comfort.” The group that works together and reaches all their goals could be living in the lap of luxury at week’s end. Can you push yourself to new limits? Are you a team player? Are you a SURVIVOR? riences!

lopment e v e D p i h s r e th Lead u o Y l u f p i h s r Wo Ages 15-18 This is the perfect program for youth who are seeking more! For three weeks, campers learn programmatic and spiritual leadership. The W.Y.L.D. Bunch camper gets hands-on experience in learning outdoor living skills, counseling and high ropes.

June 10-30 $990

Every participant in this program has the opportunity to earn certification in American Association of Archery Instruction, Red Cross Lifeguarding – which includes CPR, AED and First Aid - and American Canoeing Association instruction. Campers can also become certified Rockfish facilitators on high ropes and our group challenge course. The W.Y.L.D. Bunch campers experience and practice leading daily small group devotions and learn how to plan and lead large and small group worship experiences. They receive training and practice with leading children and youth in a camp environment, and have the opportunity to learn about many aspects of Camp Rockfish leadership. During their three weeks, W.Y.L.D. Bunch campers develop their own sense of self, and strengthen their decision-making skills. This program is about personal development and growth in their Christian walk. Most importantly, campers learn the importance of living and leading God-centered lives at camp, at home, and anywhere that life takes them. Because the program is so rigorous, we require each candidate to complete an application with three references in order to be considered.

Footprints

Footprints is a mission-based camp for groups to support our local community. Footprints camps have changed lives for years, and Camp Rockfish is excited to be part of this great program’s next chapter! We know that youth groups do not need to cross the ocean to go on a true mission trip, their mission can begin in their own backyard. Matthew 25:40 states: “The King will reply, ‘whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” As Christians, we are called to care for others. Footprints gives youth a chance to serve, have fun and meet youth from across the country. There are four schedules offered for your group to choose from. Each contains a service project component as well as an after-hours component of traditional Camp Rockfish activities. Trained Rockfish staff lead these activities – Footprints teams certainly deserve a time of rejeuvination after their day’s work. Footprints groups begin each day with a self-led Bible study. Groups will then spread out to local work sites, serving throughout the day before reconvening back at Rockfish for an evening of activities and fun. All meals are provided by Camp Rockfish, including pack out meals for the different ministry sites.

y l t n e u q e r F Asked Questions What happens on check-in day?

Check-in is from 2:30 - 4:00 PM Sunday afternoon (Wednesday for some Mini Campers). The gates open at 2:30, and our staff will guide you to the lodge for check-in. You will then be directed to our camp medical staff to log in any medicines you brought and check your camper’s temperature. This is your time to meet and ask any questions you have of our medical staff. Our staff will help carry luggage to your camper’s cabin, where he/she will meet their counselor. We encourage you to help make your camper’s bed and spend time with them before ‘good-byes’ at 4:00pm. You also have the opportunity to visit the camp store during this time and during Pick-up on Saturday morning from 9:00 - 10:00 AM (Wednesday for some Mini Campers).

How are Rockfish staff members selected?

Our staff members are chosen from a nationwide pool of applicants based on Christian character, personal integrity and love for campers. All staff complete intensive training in programming and activities, CPR and First Aid, emergency procedures, Christian discipline and leadership, communicating with youth, and risk management. All staff must be cleared through multiple background screenings and reference checks.

16

What does the fee include? The cost covers all meals, lodging, 24-hour personalized supervision with a total staff to camper ratio of 1:4, on-site medical staff, high adventure instruction, speakers and musicians, use of recreational facilities, craft items, and time spent with dedicated Christian role models. Campers will need additional spending money for snacks and gifts at the camp store.
