Maintained by volunteers, this beautiful little gem of a place offers so much – fishing at a well-stocked pond, walking trails, making use of picnic areas, and enjoying the natural amphitheatre and observations sites, all in a serene natural setting. August already?!! September is practically next week. Time to pick out a Halloween costume and start your Christmas shopping. Happy New Year, everybody! July Mom: “Let’s go to the spray park! The library! The aquatic centre! Arts and crafts! Beach vacation!” August Mom: “Net ix is your parent now. ” It’s important to lock your car doors, especially now. Your friends, neighbours and even strangers will put free zucchini in your car. It’s so hot out today, I just saw a bird blow on a worm before it ate it. If you serve your kids frozen pizza or chicken nuggets for dinner, you are a terrible parent. I don’t care how busy you are, nd the time to microwave them. Dear Sneeze, If you’re gonna happen, happen. Don’t put a stupid look on my face and then just leave. I’m like an avocado in that I’m only pleasant for a short period of time and it’s up to you to gure out when that is. I helped my neighbour out with something this morning and she said to me, “Oh I could just marry you!” I couldn’t believe it. You do something nice for someone and they threaten to ruin your life in return. My wife: “Have the kids been acting weird today?” Me: “I don’t think it’s an act.” It’s been a strange day. First, I found a hat full of money. Then I was chased by an angry man with a guitar … Fact: Kids have two stomachs. One is the meal stomach. It’s about the size of a pea. This is why children cannot consume a full breakfast, lunch or dinner. The second stomach is the snack stomach. This stomach stretches, has an in nite amount of space and can never be lled completely. There’s a ne line between a numerator and a denominator. Only a fraction of people will nd this funny.

Cooking for Hubby

Monday: It’s fun to cook for my husband. Today, I made angel food cake. The recipe said to beat 12 eggs separately. The neighbours were nice enough to loan me enough bowls. Tuesday: Hubby wanted fruit salad for supper. The recipe said to serve without dressing. So I didn’t dress. What a surprise when he brought a friend home for supper. Wednesday: A good day for rice. The recipe said wash thoroughly before steaming the rice. It seemed kind of silly, but I took a bath. I can’t say it improved the rice any. Thursday: Today Hubby asked for salad again, so I tried a new recipe. It said prepare ingredients, then toss on a bed of lettuce one hour before serving, which is what led to him asking me why I was rolling around in the garden. Friday: I found an easy recipe for cookies. It said put all ingredients in a bowl and beat it. There must be something wrong with the recipe. When I got back, everything was the same as when I left. Saturday: Hubby did the shopping today and brought home a chicken. He asked me to dress it for Sunday, so I did. For some reason, he keeps counting to ten. Sunday: The in-laws came to dinner. I wanted to serve roast. All I could nd was hamburger. Suddenly I had a ash of genius! I put the hamburger in the oven and set the control to Roast. It still came out as hamburger, much to my disappointment. This has been a very exciting week. I am eager for tomorrow to come so I can try out a new recipe for my husband. If we could just get a bigger oven, I would like to surprise him with Chocolate Mousse.
