KIA Notification Procedures Flow Chart:

Notification Process Notes: 

Process is methodical to ensure accuracy and takes time..RESPECT FOR THE FALLEN AND THEIR FAMILY!

KIA notification must be complete prior to WIA Red Message Call Out notification in same incident.

PNOK must be notified before SNOK are notified and all SNOKs must be notified before notification is considered complete.

CAC will only send a CNO to the PNOK or SNOK address that is listed on the DD93 - Emergency Data Card.

CAC will only send a CNO to the PNOK or SNOK home during the hours of 6:00am through 10:00pm - Notification can be approved outside these hours for extenuating circumstances.

CNO will complete notification in the Army Service Uniform (ASU) ONLY- Blue dress uniform.

Process gets delayed if Family is away from home, on vacation, or wrong address is listed on DD93

KIA notification must be complete prior to WIA notification in same incident.

If you hear that your Soldier is injured from ANYONE other than your SOLDIER, LTC SMITH, or CPT EVANS than it is a RUMOR...call the RDC for information.

PRIMARY WIA NOTIFICATION-SOLDIER TO SPOUSE or FAMILY MEMBER

ALTERNATE WIA NOTIFICATION-LTC SMITH TO SPOUSE or FAMILY MEMBER

CONTINGENCY WIA NOTIFICATION-CPT EVANS TO SPOUSE or FAMILY MEMBER

There is a chance that Families might get a call from someone at the CMAOC. If this happens, take down the information, the callers name and phone number, and contact CPT Evans immediately.

Remember- Just because your Soldier called you and shared details about an incident that occurred downrange, this is NOT official information and should NOT be shared with anyone.
