The Story Behind “Forever Country: Celebrating CMA’s 50th Year! New Music DMDS Report Radio News Nashville News
Keith Urban & Dallas Smith Wrap Western Tour
Brandy Clark Continues Big Day In US and UK
Forever Country is a cool single released by CMA as part of their 50th year. “Forever Country” is a fresh take on three Country classics: John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” and Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You.” Denver, Nelson, and Parton are all former CMA Entertainers of the Year. “We all thought this music was something special, but to see the reaction from the fans and our friends at Country radio has been so rewarding,” said Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “And it is only the beginning, with the companion music video sneak peek on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Tuesday night. Now the fans will not only get to hear these great performances, but see the artists in a dreamlike setting.” “Forever Country” features 30 CMA Award-winning
acts. The single was produced by CMA Award winner and CMA Board member Shane McAnally and the video was directed by Grammy Award-winning director Joseph Kahn. Following the global roadblock of the “Forever Country” single, which premiered on hundreds of Country radio stations simultaneously on Sept. 16, interest skyrocketed and #ForeverCountry quickly became a top trending topic on Twitter, while the single quickly became a Top 10 on digital retailers, topping the Country sales list. Fans fell in love: “#ForeverCountry is incredible! It feels like a love letter to every Country fan out there, young and old,” said Joey Grillo (@JoeyGrillo_). “#ForeverCountry is everything I love about Country Music in one. This is why I fell in love with the genre so many years ago,” said Alyssa (@alyssaa711).
“Just listened to the first radio play of #ForeverCountry. Such a great mix of voices old and new and a great celebration of Country Music,” said Alastair Clark (@cheesemeister97). Universal Music Group Nashville is exclusively partnering with CMA to market and distribute “Forever Country” worldwide. The song is available now at all digital retail and streaming outlet partners. CMA profits from the sales and streaming of “Forever Country” will benefit music education causes through the CMA Foundation. The music video is set to an intricate medley of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” and Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You.” The star-studded list of acts appearing in the music video includes the following CMA Award winners: Alabama, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Brett Eldredge, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Ronnie Milsap, Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Charley Pride, Rascal Flatts, Reba, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Randy Travis, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Trisha Yearwood.
On Thursday Canada Country Aircheck will have some special video interviews for you to watch about this project on our web site. “The 50th Annual CMA Awards” will be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Wednesday, Nov. 2 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Earlier this year Bruin was nominated for a Saskatchewan Country Music Award for Emerging Artist, Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year "Dirt Junkie". The 27th Annual Saskatchewan Country Music Awards took place in Saskatoon the weekend of April 22nd. Bruin has had 4 singles - the first 4 singles released from his debut album - hit the Canadian Country Radio charts (Have a Drink With Me - #80. I Don't Need to Get Lucky Tonight - #87. These Days - #89 & Dirt Junkie - #91). His latest single (the title track off of his debut album) Dirt Junkie was released to radio nation-wide on May 2nd and in less than 24 hours hit #4 on the DMDS TOP 5 downloads alongside Chad Brownlee & the Zac Brown Band. In less than a week it also climbed to #6 on the DMDS Most Active Indies chart. In January and February of this year (thanks to the support of Creative Saskatchewan) Bruin also embarked on a 9 show tour of Australia dubbed the 'Dirt Junkie Down Under Tour' that included a Main Stage performance at the Tamworth Country Music Festival (located in Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia). BRANDY CLARK CONTINUES BIG DAY IN U.S. AND U.K.
“I wanted [Big Day In A Small Town] to feel like it was Any Small Town, USA,” Brandy Clark says of her sophomore album that came out in mid-June, “but to be general, I think first you have to be specific,” she shared with Charles Monroe-Kane from a studio in Nashville on this week’s NPR’s To The Best of Our Knowledge when discussing the influence her hometown played in the process of writing for this record. With a series of C2C U.K. tour stops underway following last week’s sold out Hotel Café show in Los Angeles and a taping for the Audience Network to air this fall, it's clear Clark’s specificities are doing just what she hoped—relating. In fact, earlier this year The Tennessean’s Cindy Watts referred to her as “a singer who can relate” in a cover story reminding readers of Clark’s humble beginnings upon moving from the 900-person town of Morton, Wash. “Brandy Clark was lured to Music City by hooky songs, recognizable names and dreams of fame. Today, she’s one of country music’s leading women, lending a thoughtful, articulate voice to small town life.” The Wall Street Journal's Barry Mazor opined, "she’s a major country songwriter, consistently able to devise narrative portraits of down-home people (many of those stories haunting, some plain funny), and to furnish them with precise images and metaphors that stick. She’s also proved to be a winning singer with an unadorned and touching vocal style..."
Her new single, "Love Can Go To Hell," dubbed "a wistful break-up treatise ... which nails the sadness and anger of the post-love life over a pretty bed of layered acoustic instruments and a chugging groove" (Rolling Stone), is a prime example of her depictive writing on Big Day and was top 5 most-added at Country radio. Of her voice, well, Clark's just happy to hear others joining it on tour. “I’m never happier than when I hear the crowd singing along to the words I’ve written/to the songs I’m singing,” shares the singer/songwriter. To have opportunities to really connect with shows like last week at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles/tomorrow in Birmingham, England or when performing for fans on television, Clark adds, “I've gotten to see, hear and discover a lot of great music through series like those on the Audience Network or shows like last week where a friend would let me tag along, and I try to go into those shows asking myself, 'what would the younger version of me -- the one hoping for a chance, dreaming of an opportunity to pursue my passion for music want to hear/see?' And I think as long as people will show up, tune in, or listen to my songs, I'll show up anywhere I'm wanted!"
LOCASH HEADLINES LIVE NATION'S 'ONES TO WATCH' NATIONWIDE TOUR
Reviver Records duo LOCASH, who continue churning out hits with their second back-to-back Top 10 at No. 8 with “I Know Somebody,” will headline 17 dates this fall and early 2017 as part of Live Nation’s ‘Ones To Watch’ nationwide tour (dates below). Reviver Records recording artist Michael Tyler and BMLG Records hot newcomer Ryan Follese will also join LOCASH’s Preston Brust and Chris Lucas for select shows. LOCASH continues their North American tour to promote THE FIGHTERS their first full-length album with Reviver Records. Recently, The Huffington Post profiled the duo’s success with their second Billboard Top 10 “I Know Somebody,” which followed their charttopping, RIAA Gold-Certified “I Love This Life.” “I Know Somebody” has already racked up 6.6 million streams and sold more than 100,000 units. The “I Know Somebody” video is currently on CMT and No. 3 on Great American Country’s Top 20 Countdown. The duo are also featured in Comcast Built Ford Tough® dealer advertising campaigns across the country. LOCASH’s Chris Lucas and Preston Brust deliver infectious energy in the self-penned promotional song “Tough,” exclusively written and utilized for Ford
dealer promotional spots and advertisements. Click here to watch the Comcast Built Ford Tough® dealer advertising campaign featuring LOCASH. Michael Tyler’s debut single, “Crazy Last Night”, which world premiered on CMT, is gaining radio airplay across the country and was selected as one of Billboard’s Country Songs of the Summer Picks. MT, already a No. 1 songwriter, co-penned Dierks Bentley's two-week No. 1 smash "Somewhere on a Beach." MT also penned Jason Aldean’s “Laid Back” on the Platinum selling album Old Boots New Dirt, three songs on the LOCASH album The Fighters (“Shipwrecked,” “Ain’t Startin Tonight,” and “Moonwalkin”) and a Jason Aldean/Kelsea Ballerini duet “First Time Again” on Aldean’s new album They Don’t Know. Hailing from Thayer, Missouri, known as a railroad town, it’s ironic MT is the descendant of the late, great Jimmie Rodgers, known as "The Father of Country Music" who learned his craft around the New Orleans and Northeastern Railroad. At the age of 13, over a Myspace meeting, MT met award-winning producer Michael Knox (Jason Aldean/Thomas Rhett/Kelly Clarkson/Trace Adkins). After a few years of sending songs and ideas back and forth, MT came to Nashville, Tenn. to play a show at Tootsies Orchid Lounge for their first face-to-face meeting. At that time, Knox was hired by peermusic Nashville to help restructure the creative department. After watching MT play a few shows, Knox felt it was time for him to make the move to Nashville as a peermusic songwriter. The future has just started for this young singer/songwriter who is on the road touring all over the country with his energetic live show. Marking his solo country debut, Ryan Follese (Pronounced "fall-uh-ZAY") released his self-titled EP on BMLG Records. The RYAN FOLLESE EP ascended into the Top 5 on iTunes Country albums chart upon release and was recorded in Nashville with producers Dann Huff and Cameron Montgomery. Ryan co-wrote six of the tracks, including “Put A Label On It,” which
impacts Country radio this fall as his first official single. During his successful run fronting American Music Award-winning band Hot Chelle Rae, Ryan co-wrote their 3X Platinum #1 worldwide smash “Tonight, Tonight” and toured in 16 countries, featuring arena dates with Taylor Swift. Ryan performed on the 2012 CMT Music Awards with Lady Antebellum and penned “Thug Story” with Taylor Swift and T-Pain; the 2009 show opener has since become one of the most played video clips in CMT history. The multiple-octave vocalist has since re-focused his songwriting to incorporate the storytelling lyrics and Nashville influences he was raised on, growing up surrounded with the Country music of his chart-topping songwriter parents Keith and Adrienne. Collectively, their catalogue includes smashes for Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Lady Antebellum and Martina McBride. SiriusXM kickstarted the launch in June, selecting Ryan as their “Highway Find” and spinning his summer anthem “Float Your Boat.”

The first royalty check received by Daniels and issued by Elvis Presley Music Inc. in 1964. The check was written on January 24, 1964, twelve days after Presley recorded “It Hurts Me,” a song co-written by Daniels.
LEE BRICE, JUSTIN MOORE ANNOUNCE 2017 CO-HEADLINE 'AMERICAN MADE' TOUR
eloquent” (New York Times) power vocalist, songwriter and producer has celebrated five #1s including “I Drive Your Truck” and “Drinking Class” and was most recently honored by the RIAA during a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden for the platinum certification of his #1 radio single, “I Don’t Dance.” He quickly followed that career milestone with performances on NBC’s “The Voice,” “Today” and ABC’s “The Bachelor Live.” “It's very exciting to get back out there as a headliner,” Justin says. “To be able to do it with my buddy Lee is even more exciting. I've been a fan of his for a long time. It's gonna definitely be a party every night. I hope the fans are as jacked up about it as we are.”
Lee Brice and Justin Moore, two of country music’s most dynamic performers, will ring in 2017 with their co-headlined “American Made” tour kicking off January 12 in Indianapolis at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse. William Michael Morgan and Brett Young round out the tour as direct support. (Morgan and Young’s specific markets are noted in the tour schedule below.) Moore released his fourth album ‘Kinda Don’t Care’ — his third #1 debut on the Country charts — in August. The lead single from the album, the Top-5 and-rising “You Look Like I Need a Drink,” lines up right alongside his chart-topping Platinum and Gold-certified hits “Small Town USA,” “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away,” “Point at You” and “Lettin’ The Night Roll.” This also follows two Gold-certified albums ‘Justin Moore’ and ‘Outlaws Like Me.’ He debuted music from his new album last month with a live performance during the Fox & Friends’ All-American Summer Concert Series. Lee Brice is a multiple ACM and CMA award winner with a GRAMMY nomination, six RIAA platinum singles – and more than 10 Million singles sold —under his belt. The “melodically
“When we put this tour together we thought about the fans first,” says Lee who kicked off 2016 with his own headlining “Life Off My Years” tour after being the only country artist in 2015 to perform in all 50 states. “I love playing live but what’s even more fun is interacting with the amazing people in the audience. That’s what it’s all about. I can’t wait to get out there to play the songs everyone already knows but we’re also planning to give these audiences a sneak peek into a few songs off the new record!”

strobe lights, knee-bending guitarists and high-energy tunes about cars, girls, beer and church. More than 18,000 fans poured into downtown’s silver saviour for a sold-out celebration of country-pop and civic history. As written in the Edmonton Journal “Arenas aren’t particularly known for being acoustically astounding, but yes, Friday night’s show sounded pretty good — from the opening act to the headliners, from seats next to the stage to those in the nosebleeds. (Of course, it wasn’t nearly as loud or pristine the higher up you went.) The only real glitch? I don’t think Dallas Smith’s banjo player was actually plugged in during the first few songs of their set, but that’s the fault of a stage tech, not the arena.” They also wrote “Smith, on the other hand, charmed the crowd by slow-dancing with his Edmonton-bred wife, Kristen Jones, while he sang Autograph, the latest single from his third album, Side Effects. She looked terrified at first, then quickly warmed up to her husband’s shenanigans. Awwwww.“
When Keith Urban brought his Ripcord Tour to Edmonton along with Maren Morris and Dallas Smith they were the first act to play the new Rogers Place and as Keith said “It is so cool to be opening this night in this beautiful arena”. Maren Morris also commented on how great the arena was as well.
“Not to be outdone, Keith Urban let one young fan, St. Albert’s Hailey Benedict, perform a song after he pulled her and a friend on stage because he liked their guitarshaped signs. Double awwwww.”
The up ’n’ coming Texas-bred singer was the night’s first act, one of two openers on Keith Urban’s ripCORD World Tour stop in Edmonton, featuring twangy drawls,
Keith Urban and his band delivered a stellar set of tight and polished songs — including Blue Ain’t Your Colour, Kiss A Girl, We Were Us (with Morris) and Cop Car — in front of a huge screen and banks of ever-changing lights. He later moved to a small stage at the back of the venue for a handful of numbers, showing off his guitar ferocity and humble roots in the process.
