MEET ASHLYNNE VINCE We have some great talent in Canada and Ashlynne Vince is one to watch. She is already creating a buzz within the industry. She has played the major Honky Tonks in Nashville, which reminds us of Terri Clark when she first came to Nashville and has spent time learning how the music industry works. She is from Welland Ontario and her current single is called “Stupid Love”. Ash Vince is exploding on the Canadian Country Scene as an emerging Canadian Country artist dividing her time between Nashville, TN and her hometown of Welland, ON. After several years, as a young artist working in the music industry, things are falling nicely into place with her new National Canadian Country Radio Release of Stupid Love! Her original written music first gained recognition from the 2011 Niagara Music Awards as Ash Vince was awarded the winner for Rising Star of the Year at a young age of 13. In 2013 and 2014 Ash Vince made several trips to Nashville to record her debut self-written album Tidal Wave at the legendary CMT Studios. There she worked with studio engineer Rebekah Long (Cole Swindle, Stella Parton, Randy Houser) who went onto a position at The Tracking Room in the heart of Nashville’s Music Row. Rebekah invited Ashlynne (who was still in high-school at the time) to complete an internship in 2015 with her, and learn the engineering side of music to further her knowledge in the music industry and as an artist. In 2015, while in Canada, Ashlynne had the honour of opening at a Hamilton, ON show for Canadian Idol runner up Jayden Bixby for a

charity event for the Canadian National Autism Foundation. She also opened for runner up of Britain’s Got Talent Aliki at the Scotiabank Centre in Niagara Falls, ON to a sold out crowd. When in Nashville, Ashlynne performs on rotation at the famous Tootsies Wild Orchid Lounge, Rippy’s and Honky Tonk Central mentoring under some of the most entertaining and successful musicians in North America. She also makes occasional guest appearances on the General Jackson Riverboat Cruise, The Bluebird Cafe, Legends, The Stage, and The Palace, while in Nashville. One of the highlights during the 2016 Festival Season in Ontario, was being chosen as a Spotlight Artist at the Trackside Music Festival joining the stage with Florida Georgia Line, Randy Houser, Brett Kissel, and Jess Moskaluke to name a few. A proud member of the CCMA, CMAO, Grammys, Junos, Nashville Songwriters Association, SOCAN, ASCAP, and AFM - Ashlynne is deeply rooted in the Canadian Country scene. Currently, Ashlynne is recording in the studio with producer Dean Malton at Groundloop Studios (Deadmau5, EMI Canada) working on a brand new 6 song EP. Her first national Canadian Country Radio Release came out in early October 2016, announced and endorsed by the CCMA. We are excited that Ashlynne’s second Canadian radio single will be released in the New Year! For more information visit: http://ashvince. ca

DEAN BRODY RELEASES NEW SINGLE “TIME” WITH GREAT REVIEWS!

After a stunning live debut at the 2016 CCMA Award broadcast, the single “Time” hits country radio waves today. The song has already created a significant buzz as Dean performed this live for radio stations across the country while promoting the release of his new album “Beautiful Freakshow”. Written solely by Dean Brody, “Time” was inspired by Dean’s favourite Buddha quote, “the trouble is you think you have time”. The song is a thought-provoking tale of acknowledging the present and not taking things for granted. “This one’s a knock out...listeners have been asking about it since the CCMA Awards broadcast” - Leanne Cater, QX104 Winnipeg ‘Dean’s new song “Time”, like “Trail In Life” and “Brothers” before it, takes us to a special goosebump-y place that few other writers dare to go. Simple, succinct and concise, there is not one wasted word or note in this song. Dean has once again set the bar high for modern country music and we are lucky to have him’ Pete Walker, KX96 Oshawa

“I’m a consumer of music, just like my audience, and this was a, “stop me in my tracks song” when I heard Dean play it on the CCMA Awards show. Once again, he shows he can strike any chord of emotion.” Paul Ferguson, Cool 100 Belleville

The biggest problem programmers have is finding songs that are maybe new or unique because so many artists record the standards and there is only so many times you can play “Let It Snow”! I get excited when I see songs that are different. Here is our annual list of our Top 10 Christmas Songs. Some new and some a few years old.

It’s Thanksgiving in the US this week so we asked a few stars about Thanksgiving. Thomas Rhett tells us “This past year was the first year that I was responsible for the turkey. So I smoked a turkey for about 12 hours and I think that I’m going to become the turkey man, I guess, around every Thanksgiving. But yeah we’ll see.” Justin Moore tells us “The day before (Thanksgiving) he gets a bunch of all his buddies over and they bring their turkeys and everybody fries their turkeys for the next day and drinks beer. So I’d love to start something like that. That’s right up my alley.” Trisha Yearwood shares her traditional Thanksgiving Day.“I grew up where we always had a big Thanksgiving kind of late lunch and then tried to stay awake to watch the football games, you know? (laughs) So, I kind of keep that tradition alive. I get up in the morning, and usually I put the turkey in the night before, and I love to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. That’s a tradition that I did since I was a kid — and usually everybody else is still asleep. And then we have…and it just depends: living in Oklahoma, my family is in Georgia, so Thanksgiving is either, it could be just us as a family, sometimes it’s a bigger crowd. But it always involves food and my grandma’s cornbread dressing, which is my favorite, and football.”

Brandy Clark Closes 2016 Acoustic Tour on a High Note CMA Award winner and four-time GRAMMY nominee, Brandy Clark, just wrapped a highly successful acoustic tour that Los Angeles Times said, “delivered a stream of smartly crafted songs,” that will make radio “hard-pressed to find songs more emotionally and musically rewarding than Clark’s,” with a bang Sunday in Northampton, Mass. Clark has now been tapped as a special guest for an esteemed event this December honoring revolutionary music icon and 11-time GRAMMY Award winner, Linda Ronstadt. With an acoustic performance that made CMT write, “few artists can make you feel the power of music quite like Brandy Clark,” the acclaimed songwriter sold out an entire run in the United Kingdom as well as multiple stops in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New York City. The event presented by The Bluegrass Situation, Goldenvoice and Red Light Management is titled, A Tribute to the Music of Linda Ronstadt, and will use powerful voices of respected singer/songwriters to honor the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer in Los Angeles Dec. 11 at The Theatre at Ace Hotel.

Clark, who Washington Post said is “armed onstage with her own powerful voice and an acoustic guitar,” will be in great company as the tribute will feature performances by Ronstadt’s close friends including: Jackson Browne, Maria Muldaur and David Lindley as well as those to which she was an influencer: Dawes, Gaby Moreno, Grace Potter and I’m With Her (Sara Watkins, Aoife O’Donovan, Sarah Jarosz) led by the Watkins Family Hour house band. “Linda Ronstadt is one of my favorite artists and biggest musical influences,” says Clark. “I admire how beloved she is within all music circles, from pop to rock to country and beyond. I am honored to be part of this great event and to help raise money for such an important cause.” All proceeds will benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, a disease that affects Ronstadt.
