CARNIVAL RIDE The second single from Dean Young’s upcoming album goes to radio January 27th! Dean Young, a country singer songwriter from Ontario Canada, was raised in a musical family and was showcasing at square dances by the age of three. His Dad Bazil Young is a well known local (Niagara) Country musician, radio host and DJ (CHOW & CHLM and also on the “Ramblin’ Lou’s Radio Show as guest host with brother Wally Young - “The Young Brothers”). Although Dean’s father had him learning guitar at a very young age, by the age of 15 Dean’s interest in musical instruments turned to playing the drums. He quickly caught the attention of the local music circuit and was soon playing drums while singing, both backing and lead, with numerous bands in Ontario Canada. (New York Minute, 21 Plus, White Frost, The Limit etc). Dean also enjoys playing acoustic guitar and percussion. His musical influences are mainly Country and Rock. Dean held a factory job for over 22 years while maintaining his musical interests into adulthood. It wasn’t until more recent years that he took the initiative to leave the steady factory job and make his music first; a move that made him step outside his comfort zone in providing for his young family. Unfortunately, not too long after this decision, his wife and children became very ill with what they later learned to be Lyme disease and “co-infections”. Their household dropped from 2 person income generating to one. Many of the day-to-day household duties fell on Dean’s shoulders during the next few years. He’s had to weigh work priorities/time very carefully. The family is thankfully, in a more stable position now as Dean continues to pursue his career in music, and works diligently toward the release of his debut original country album.
In July 2016, Dean released Tennessee Honey, the first single from the album. The second single was just released (January 2017) to iTunes etc via CD Baby. Carnival Ride is an upbeat, fun song that pulls you into the excitement of falling in love; with all of its twists and turns. Dean is looking forward to sharing the album with fans later this year. Song writing has always been a part of Dean’s life and although his writing covers many genres, it’s country music that continues to draw his heart as that was the foundation of his youth. Song writing has always been a part of Dean’s life and although his writing covers many genres, it’s country music that continues to draw his heart as that was the foundation of his youth. Dean has performed for over 34 years to audiences all over North America, Japan, Bermuda and Mexico and is grateful to be able to share his passion and uplift the people who love and appreciate music. He feels blessed in the decision to pursue and share his love of music, and he is very grateful for the support. Carnival Ride Impacting on Friday.January 27th

UP-CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH STEVE GIBSON Sometimes when we hear a song it has an instant connection with you and sticks with you. That was the case when I heard Steve Gibson’s “I Miss My Friend”. We sat down with Steve for a one on one interview. You have such a touching song and one the listener can tell you sing from your heart. Tell us the story behind “I Miss My Friend” I started writing “I Miss My Friend” when a friend of mine took his own life. It was a very sudden and unexpected and tragic event. Little did I know two other friends committed suicide that same year. That’s when I finished the song. I play it at the funeral which needless to say was the hardest performance I’ve ever done. It was later when I attended an event called “wounded warriors” where I sat down for supper and socialized with war vets and soldiers throughout the weekend and really got to know the guys and girls. that was when I realized how serious depression and ptsd is and wanted to do something about it and release “I miss my friend” to raise awareness. It was a big move from England to Canada especially at age 16. How was that for you? Moving to Canada was very exciting at that age. I moved here with my family so it wasn’t that hard just a big adjustment and also bitter sweet coz I did leave my band and music studies, friends and family back home. Is country music big in England and was country part of your music mix? Country music was not big in England when I was growing up but my dad was an iinfluence of mine as he always had cassettes of Kenny Rogers and Crystal
Gale in the car haha. Between traveling back and forth to Canada was where I grew a love to new country music being introduced to artists like Keith Urban, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney.. You write play and produce your own music. Hunter Hayes does the same thing. Must be very satisfying tell us about that experience. As a writer and guitar player, I’m very proud and picky of the way my song, lyrics and guitar sound and the story I’m trying to get across to the listener so I like to have control of it. I’ve worked with a lot of amazing artists and producers so it is always very exciting to see what ideas we can all come up with. Any plans to go back to England to tour? I do have plans to head back to England and hopefully do some shows. Actually my cousin Sam Gibson is also a recording artist/song writer and we’ve been throwing the idea around of touring and possibly doing a collaboration. There may be plans to head over there in the fall and play a couple dates. I would love to head down to Nashville and play a few shows, I did record down there a couple years ago so Nashville was like home for a summer. What is next for Steve Gibson? My main FOCUS is my music..Moving ahead good things are coming up Having a great working relationship with LE Music Promotions (Linda) as part of my team we have a very busy year for 2017, My debut album will be getting released this spring which will also have a new single coming out in the next couple of months.Plans for a radio tour, new video etc.. Also lots of shows across Canada. Really excited about this coming year!
Who would be your biggest influence? I have a lot of influences being a music lover. I grew up listening to 80’s rock and a huge variety of music. Anywhere from Elvis to the eagles to the goo goo dolls to Elton John. But I always describe myself as a guitar player that sings not a singer that plays guitar, so I’ve always been swain to anything with guitar work in it. I’d have to say my biggest influence would be without a doubt Mark knopfler (front man of dire straits) my dad worked on a farm with him when he was younger and started me listening to his music from a very early age. I started playing guitar at the age of 6 and anyone that hears me play knows I’m hugely influenced by knopfler with my finger picking style of playing. That guy is my hero :)

For more information on the program, CLICK HERE. CLICK HERE for the application process. Here’s what our some of our 2016 CCMA Discovery Program finalists had to say about the program: TENILLE ARTS “The CCMA Discovery Program changed my career. Every new artist should apply for the 2017 program. I had meetings with industry professionals in the U.S. and Canada as a direct result of the two performances we did, and the connections I made will be valued for the rest of my life. Because of the knowledge and relationships I made, I felt confident releasing my self-titled debut EP shortly after Country Music Week 2016.”
ERIC ETHRIDGE “The CCMA Discovery Program has truly been a life-changing experience, and the most influential opportunity for my music career to-date. The amount of effort and planning that the CCMA staff had put into the organization of Music Industry Discovery Week was incredible, and showed how passionate they are for Canada’s country music and emerging artists. From learning about social media strategies to meeting record label presidents, to being mentored by some of Canada’s biggest country artists, there was something valuable to be learned in each segment of the CCMA Discovery Program. It has significantly helped me grow as an artist in the Canadian music industry, and I’m very grateful for his opportunity! “
LIVY JEANNE “I am so thankful to have been a part of the 2016 CCMA Discovery Program. It was such an awesome experience because of all the opportunities presented to us by the CCMA family. I have been able to benefit from each and every panel that was presented, as well as the one-on-one mentorship program. I know for a fact that being a part of the CCMA Discovery Program has given me the tools to continue to open doors through my career, and the knowledge to become a better artist in all areas.”

Luke Bryan to Sing the National Anthem at the Super For Luke Bryan there’s only one answer to the question, “Will you sing at theSuper Bowl?” “I said, ‘Hell yes, I’ll do it!’ ” the country singer tells PEOPLE. Bryan’s been tapped to sing the national anthem at the Feb. 5 event in Houston and despite the demanding nature of the tune, he has zero second thoughts about accepting the job. “Is the anthem challenging? Yes. Is it nerve-wracking? Yes. But I moved to Nashville to follow my dreams and singing the national anthem on that stage doesn’t get any bigger.” The performance is also one way to show his patriotism. “I never served in the military — that’s something I wish I had had the opportunity to do,” he says, “but I feel like this is my way of honoring my country. It’s a little chance to serve.” The singer admits he is playing favorites among the final four teams vying for the Super Bowl spots. “I’ve to lean toward my Georgia roots,” the Leesburg native says. “I’m a huge Atlanta Falcons fan and it would be amazing if my Falcons make it.” But either way, “I’ll be focused on the anthem. And once I walk off that field and shake off that pressure, I’ll be ready to enjoy some football.” Bryan isn’t the only musical act slated to entertain the crowd (and millions watching from home). Lady Gaga, who sang the national anthem last year, will perform during the halftime show.
