While September seems far away it comes fast. Each week we will have information on what is happening during CCMA Music Week in Saskatoon. If you are not a member of the CCMA we urge you to join and attend the CCMA Music week in Saskatoon. We are proud to have Lauren Tutty Promotions as our sponsor for The Road To Saskatoon”. Since we started our Road to series 5 years ago Lauren has been our sponsor. Lauren Tutty is proud to be celebrating her 10th year in business. “One of the first artists I had the pleasure of working with was Julian Austin. What a great way to open up doors at radio with such an established artist. It’s hard to believe that was 10 years ago. One of my first calls to radio was to Pete Walker at KX96. We hit it off then and we still have a great relationship today.” Hailing from Liverpool Nova Scotia (The Home of Hank Snow) she has had the pleasure of working for some of the best country musicians Canada has to offer. “I love what I do and I’m passionate about the music

and the people I work for. Yes I’ve had the pleasure to work with some key artists like Jess Moskaluke, Gord Bamford, One More Girl, Julian Austin, John Landry, Crystal Shawanda, and Barney Bentall, but I’m always looking for emerging indie artists, with great tunes and a good work ethic.” “My job is not only to acquaint and acquire radio with the song and artist at hand; but to make sure that the door is open for the next single down the road. It’s a building process.” “Working together to get to the next level is what we do. When an Artist like Jess Moskaluke goes from releasing Amen Hallelujah (the first single we worked on) to three time CCMA Female Artist of the Year, we feel very proud that we were part of her early team.” Having a tracker work for you at radio makes good sense. Now is not the time gamble your musical career on your tracking abilities.

SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN FOR THE 2017 CCMA SONGWRITERS’ SERIES The CCMA Songwriters’ Series is a longstanding and beloved event of Country Music Week, as it’s the songwriting - and the stories - of country music that truly sets the genre apart from others. Each year, the CCMA solicits submissions from its members who excel at the craft of songwriting and want to share their stories with audiences of both industry and the public during our annual event. The 2017 CCMA Songwriters’ Series, as part of PotashCorp Country Music Week, will feature three sessions this year: Thursday, September 7; Friday, September 8 and Saturday, September 9. Each session will showcase eight (8) artists; four (4) of whom will be selected from submissions received, and four (4) of whom will be decided upon by a CCMA-appointed talent advisory committee made up of impartial individuals within the industry. Submissions received for the 2017 CCMA Songwriters’ Series will be reviewed by an impartial industry-led jury and successful applicants will be notified of their opportunity to showcase as part of the event this spring. CLICK HERE for more information on the 2017 CCMA Songwriters’ Series, and to apply for one of the twelve (12) coveted showcase spots available as part of the event this year in Saskatoon. 3 PM - 4 PM Artist Interview with Toby Keith: My Way Sponsored by BMI Omni, Level 2, Legends Ballroom, D-G About Toby Keith The familiar maxim of the triple threat – singer, songwriter, musician – doesn’t begin to cover it for Toby Keith, one of the modern era’s most complete self-directed hit makers. And Keith’s most recent several months are a remarkably accurate representation of his entire career. He wrote, produced and released his latest single “A Few More Cowboys” to Billboard Hot Shot Debut status and the song is continuing to round up some amens and good-calls on its way up the charts. The release heralds new music following the successful and acclaimed 2015 album 35 mph Town. Toby continues to fill venues coastto-coast on his current Interstates & Tailgates Tour presented by Ford F-Series. National television performances include kicking off the 2015 season of PBS’ Soundstage, and paying tribute to Merle Haggard on the April, 2016 FOX telecast of the American Country Countdown Awards as well as to Glen Campbell and songwriter Jimmy Webb on the September, 2016 CBS telecast of ACM Honors. Even closer to his heart was last year’s performance on TBS’ Neighborhood Sessions and being recognized with the Atlantic Council’s Distinguished Leadership Award for “remarkable musical contributions and support for US troops around the world.” Capping it all is this year’s Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic which raised another $1.175 million to aid sick children and their families in Oklahoma. From the moment Toby’s debut single “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” shot up the charts to become his first No. 1, the engine driving everything else has been the music. He writes it. He arranges and produces it. And he releases it on his own record label, Show Dog Nashville. At the core is his songwriting, as recognized in his 2015 induction into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in New York City. The Nashville Songwriters Association International named him Songwriter/Artist of the Decade and

he is a three-time BMI Country Songwriter/Artist of the Year. His songs have received more than 87 million BMI performances on commercial radio stations worldwide. Keith’s albums have sold more than 40 million copies. His tours have drawn more than a million fans each year for more than a decade straight, with recent expansion into Europe and Australia. The awards are too numerous to count and include Artist of the Decade nods from Billboard and the American Country Awards, as well as the ACM’s Career Achievement honor. A musician’s musician, he was a last minute illness stand-in for the late Merle Haggard a few years back and responded to Merle’s query about which of the legend’s songs Keith knew and could cover with, “All of ‘em.” And there have been some unexpected highlights along the way as well, including country’s most impactful viral event ever, “Red Solo Cup,” the video for which has received more than 30 million views and was named ACM Video of the Year . Toby’s most rewarding experiences, however, have come from giving back locally, nationally and abroad. His golf classics fund the Toby Keith Foundation and OK Kids Korral, a cost-free home for families of children dealing with critical illnesses. His 11 USO Tours to date have been recognized with the Spirit of the USO Award (2014). And when a tornado ravaged his hometown, Toby Keith was the face of the community and helped shoulder the cleanup with the 2013 OK Twister Relief Concert. Triple threat? How about singer, songwriter, musician, producer, entertainer, humanitarian, Oklahoman and patriot. 5:15 - 6:15 New Faces Cocktail Reception Sponsored by Big Spark Music Group Onni, Level 2, Grandview Terrace CRS Networking isn’t complete until we gather one last time for some cheer and fellowship as we prepare to honor the CRS 2017 New Faces of Country Music. NEW MUSIC PAIGE WILLIAMS “AIN’T NO SAINT” Paige Williams is a self-avowed fan of Shania Twain, Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood. With her vivacious sprit and Californian charm, she’s a legitimate candidate to join the ranks of those who’ve inspired her. Like thousands before her, Paige has fought her way through the music business jungle in pursuit of her dream, often encountering obstacles or unexpected dead ends. Undaunted, she’s used her setbacks and obstacles to her advantage, and using these challenges to fuel her songs. An American and Canadian citizen who grew up in California and spent most of her summers in North Battleford Saskatchewan on her family’s farm- she took an unusual leap-into the heart of one of the most competitive arenas in contemporary society- the music business. Paige grew up in an environment loaded with temptation. “I was fortunate to have music as my driving passion,” she says. “I stayed out of trouble by being constantly active. I started writing songs, and playing piano when I was very young. Paige has gone from singing the National Anthem for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Anaheim Ducks to getting her original song, “Welcome to My Life” placed in the independent film, Wake (starring Bijou Phillips and Jane Seymour) and another self-penned tune, “Gone,” placed in May The Best Man Win, (an Indy production starring Rob Riggle of The Daily Show and Horatio Sanz of Saturday Night Live). Her song, “How Did Our Love Change,” was also featured on a Nickelodeon TV show. She also received award consideration as a nominee for Producers’ Choice in the Best Pop Single at the Los Angeles Music Awards and was a contender in the “Single of the Year” category by the prestigious Indie Singer/ Songwriter Association. She also received honorable mention in the 2010 Billboard World Music contest for her original song, “Welcome to My Life.” In Feb-

ruary 2015, her single “Give You Hell” was added to Canadian radio. Paige has recently finished her California Country EP and finally feels like this is the music she has wanted to sing and write all along. Musically, Paige has finally created her own version of what country music sounds like and means to her. Paige’s self-titled EP will be released on Canadian radio and digitally distributed in February 2017.

NEW MUSIC ELOIE RICHARD ‘MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT”

Hailing from St. Stephen, New Brunswick;Eloie Richard is no newcomer to the live music industry. Coming from a family of 10, Eloie’s first foray into the music world started with his family’s band. Eloie recounts “Mom and Dad were always very supportive and proud of all of us; they never ever complained, even when we made so much noise that they couldn’t hear themselves think!” His debut single “Middle Of The Night” was recorded under the watchful eye of Danny Bourgeois. To date, Eloie has shared the stage with Doug Stone,Julian Austin, Chris Cummings, The Good Brothers,Trooper and The Barra MacNeils. You see music is not what he does ... it is what he is.

This self-penned tune is about a couple that just can’t get it right. Eloie says “They have tried and tried, but she has given up. He knows he needs to move on but is having a hard time ending it with her. He is hoping he will have the courage to finally just move on one day and not look back.”
