PAIGE WILLIAMS “AIN’T NO SAINT”

In a culture seemingly driven by instant gratification, music fans appear starved for that next jolt of electricity. Paige Williams is a self-avowed fan of Shania Twain, Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood. With her vivacious sprit and Californian charm, she’s a legitimate candidate to join the ranks of those who’ve inspired her. An American and Canadian citizen who grew up in California and spent most of her summers in North Paige has recently finished her California Country EP and finally feels like this is the music she has wanted to sing and write all along. Musically, Paige has created her own version of what country music sounds like and means to her. Paige’s single “Ain’t No Saint” is being well accepted at radio stations across Canada. The International Songwriting Competition has announced their semi-finalists for 2017 and Paige Williams has been nominated in two categories for her single “Ain’t No Saint” in the COUNTRY and PERFORMANCE categories! I started writing songs, and playing piano when I was very young.

Ducks to getting her original song, “Welcome to My Life” placed in the independent film, Wake (starring Bijou Phillips and Jane Seymour) and another selfpenned tune, “Gone,” placed in May The Best Man Win, (an Indy production starring Rob Riggle of The Daily Show and Horatio Sanz of Saturday Night Live). Platinum selling group, The Road Hammers have released a brand new single “Crazy About You”, a dynamic, upbeat track, about continuing to fall in love with long time partners as the years go on. The new track is available digitally and to radio today! The group has been hard at work over the past several months, putting the finishing touches on a brand new album, which is due out May 2017. The song was written by all three band members, Jason McCoy, Chris Byrne, Clayton Bellamy, and produced by Gavin Brown and Jason McCoy. It was thoughtfully inspired by lead singer Jason McCoy’s relationship with his wife, whom he speaks very fondly of, “My wife and I started dating when we were just teenagers. Like most couples, we’ve had our ups and downs and it’s been quite a ride, but for some reason, in my eyes, she’s forever 18, and in her eyes, I

know I’ll always be the crazy guy she married.” This summer will see the guys on the festival circuit, playing at a number of events, including; Country Thunder Saskatchewan (SK), Mattawa Voyageur Days (ON), Habourfest (ON) and Country Thunder (AB).

New music The Heartbroken, “Going to Hell” “Going to Hell” is a signature song of The Heartbroken. Combine the raw lyrical punch they are known for, with a dynamic and powerhouse musical track, it’s old school storytelling at it’s finest. The Heartbroken formed eight years ago almost by accident, with four best friends singing in the kitchen. Since then the band released a celebrated debut album, and toured cross-country multiple times, earning many fans, accolades and nominations along the way, including several CCMA and CMOA nominations. For this album they took great effort to capture the boldness and intensity of their critically acclaimed live shows and the impressive results are felt throughout this sophomore album. Everything that made The Heartbroken’s debut so striking is still here, but there is also a whole new self-assured sound.

HUNTER BROTHERS DROP DEBUT ALBUM GETAWAY Their highly-anticipated debut album is dropping March 3 digitally, and in-stores March 17. The album is a compilation of fun, light-hearted, uptempo tracks about love and small town life, inspired by the brothers’ time on the farm together. “Born and Raised” highlights their passion for where they come from, while “Those Were The Nights” is reminiscent of memories that will last a lifetime. A number of the songs on the record were co-written by High Valley’s Brad Rempel, and the duo also joins the Hunter Brothers on the upbeat, party

track, “Country Stuff ”. The inspiration for the latest single, “Getwaway” comes from ice-cold Canadian winters. “When you’re stuck under 3 feet of snow, particularly in Saskatchewan,” says lead singer Ty Hunter, “you need a bit of an escape from the winter blues! This song is really a playful take on being with the one you love, and their presence being your getaway! We had a blast writing this song with our producer Seth Mosely, and Brad Rempel from High Valley.”

The 2017 Saskatchewan Country Music Association nominees have just been released and the Hunter Brother are up for 4 awards; Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year, Group of the Year, Emerging Artist Award and Single of the Year (“El Dorado”). Spring and summer tour dates are on the horizon for this band of brothers and fans can catch them live at Telemiracle 41 in Saskatoon, at Dauphin Country Fest, and the All Folk’d Up Festival in Montmartre, SK.

Filmed at New York’s Iridium, Nettles is joined on stage by CMA Award-winning and Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Brandy Clark to perform her hit song “Love Can Go to Hell.” Nettles is later joined by Amos Lee for two songs including Sugarland’s “Very Last Country Song.” In an exclusive interview captured prior to the performance Nettles says, “my love of performance actually comes from a love of live performance. If it happens to translate through a camera or through a recording, I love that.” Nettles continues, “I love that we have the technology to record performances and repeat them as many times as we want, (whether) in our cars or in our headphones or on our televisions.” Watch Jennifer’s interview here

thew Ramsey. “It’s in the face of those challenges and standing at the edge of fear that we have to remain positive. Focus on the light that comes from positivity instead of being swallowed up. Share of Ear: 18-24s Cross the Threshold The combination of sample size and tracking in our Share of Ear surveys allows us to see the changes in audio consumption as they happen. In our most recent release of data, we found that for the first time, among 18-24 year olds Streaming Audio (that is, audio from Internet pureplays from Pandora, Spotify, and their ilk) has surpassed Broadcast Radio. As the nearby graph shows, Streaming has now inched ahead, 29%-28% among this young age group. This advantage comes despite the fact that for audio consumption in the car, streaming is as yet quite small. Despite this disadvantage, streaming wins at-home and at-work in sufficient amounts to surpass radio overall. We will of course keep tracking this age group and all others as well as the dynamic audio landscape evolves. We suggest you visit Edison Research for more information here
