GENERAL Q&A Q: What is the difference between Visual inspection and recertification in fall protection? A: Inspection is typically a visual process performed prior to use and on a periodic basis. Recertification is a process which typically involves engineering review of the original design, load testing and other activities in order to “certify” a system. Q :Can I write on my Harness / Lanyard? A: The “Sharpie” brand of felt-tip marking pens from Sanford, Inc. uses a type of permanent ink that will not cause deterioration to nylon and polyester webbing. This is the only brand of marker that DuPont has tested and approved. Q: Is there a expiration date for my harness and/or lanyard? A: CSA standards require that the user remove the equipment from service if it has been subject to the forces of arresting a fall. There is no expiry date for Fall Arrest items, They also states that when inspection reveals defects in, damage to, or inadequate maintenance of equipment, the equipment shall be permanently removed from service or undergo adequate corrective maintenance before return to service. Q: How often should I inspect my gear? A: Any using fall protection equipment must inspect their gear per the user manual instructions prior to each use, is it also required that a competent person other than the user complete a thorough inspection of the product at least annually and record the results. Q: Is there a specific height at which point fall protection is required? A: This depends upon province; Alberta - 3.0 m; BC - 3.0 m; MB - 3.0 m; NL - 3.05 m; NB - 3.0 m; NS - 3.0 m; NT/NU - 3.0 m; Ontario: (Construction, Industry, Mining, Window Washing): 3.0 m; PE - 3.0 m; QC - 3.0 m; SK - 3.0 m; YU - 3.0 m.

These workers must be given adequate oral and written instructions by a competent person. Requirements for training and instruction under subsection 26.2(1) of the Construction Projects Regulation must be completed, in addition to an approved working at heights training program. The Anchor Post provides 3 independent swivel tie-off points for fall arrest anchorage, three stage/four position telescoping design and aluminum consturction for easy transportation and setup. RENTAL AGREEMENT Rental/Sales agreement made between Scantech Inspection Services Ltd herinafter called “Lessor” / “Vendor” and the customer named above hereinafter called “Lessee” / “Purchaser” / “Customer”. I. Master Agreement: The Renter and Dealer acknowledge and agree that the terms and conditions contained in this agreement shall govern the rental of any and all equipment by the Renter from the Dealer, and the term equipment as used herein shall refer to all such equipment. The terms and conditions of this agreement shall govern the rental of all equipment and, except as otherwise expressly agreed by the Dealer and Renter in writing, in the event of a conflict between the terms and conditions contained in this agreement and any terms or conditions set out in any purchase order, acceptance or other document the Renter and Dealer agree that the terms and conditions set out in this agreement shall govern. II. The Rental Period: The rental period with respect to each piece of equipment shall commence on and include the day of actual delivery of the equipment. III. Maintenance, Operations and Repairs: The Renter shall not remove, alter, disfigure or cover up any numbering upon the equipment, and shall ensure that no equipment is subjected to careless or needlessly rough usage, and shall at the Renter’s own expense, maintain and ultimately return the equipment together with any tools and accessories in good repair and running order. IV. Damage to Equipment: The Renter shall indemnify and hold harmless the Dealer against all loss and damage to the equipment during the rental period and the appraisal for any such loss or damage shall be based on the replacement cost of equipment without deduction for depreciation. V. Liability of Renter: The Renter shall indemnify and hold harmless the Dealer against all loss, expenses penalties, damages, condemnation and legal costs which the Dealer may suffer or many be required or condemned to pay for personal injuries and/or property damage suffered by any person by reason of the equipment or the operations, handling, transportation or use thereof by or while in the hands of the Renter. VI. Title: Title to the equipment shall at all times be and remain vested in the Dealer and nothing contained in this lease shall be deemed to have the effect or conferring on the Renter any right or title whatsoever. VII. Subletting: None of the equipment shall be sublet by the Renter, nor shall he assign or transfer any interest in this lease without the previous written consent of the Dealer. VIII Return: ALL UNITS WILL BE INSPECTED ONCE RETURNED - CHARGES WILL APPLY IF UNIT REQUIRES REPAIRS IX: Freight: Customers are solely responsible for transportation costs to and from our facility.
