Victor opened in 2008 and was Ontario’s first diamond mine. In 2019, the final load of ore was trucked from Victor pit on March 5, stockpile was processed until May 25, and plant shutdown was completed by June. Eighty staff continue to work at Victor in reclamation. Site takedown and environmental monitoring is expected to take three to five years after mining ceased.
