7 Humans are, and have always been, nomadic creators. Our ways of migration may have changed over the course of our time on earth, but the predominant reason to migrate is still unchanged: survival. Granted, survival looks different for different people At this point in time, where we are surrounded by people of different races, cultural backgrounds and religions the one common thread that can always bind us is our willingness to survive, to forge ahead and to prosper and it is from this very commonality that hospitality blossoms. This thesis aims to explore how cultural hospitality can address Italy’s external and internal migration issues through a unified platform which is designed to provide skill development for refugees and facilitate integration while strengthening local rural and sub rural economies.

Monte delle formiche intervention Our top priority when designing for Monte dell Formiche was to preserve the sancity of the site and be as minimally intrusive to the natural habitat as posisble. No new strructures are proposed and after careful deliberation it was decided best to work on improving the existing path up the hill than creating a new one. Wanting to facilitate visitors in their climb, benches and resting posts have been proposed at multiple places through along the path. The benches shall be made from reclaimed wood sources from the area. Solar powered LED lights, close to the ground so as not to disturb the wildlife, have also been proposed along the path to help illumiate the walk in the evenings.

Facing the urban problem is not easy. Because we need to project what will happen in the future by reading the territory and pointed out the business as usual so we can plan a strategy to deal with the problem and working on the development of the city itself. In this project we try to solve the problem by looking to potential and risk that can be happen in area along river Po in the year of 2031. In the case of San Nicolo we need to deal with how we can keep inhabitants to their own city. in the sense that they are living life, rather than just a place to sleep after work. Not only we deal with the problem providing space for the increase number of future inhabitants, but also providing space for living. We look deep into the use of the space in the city and trying to make some proposals to how we can deal with the space to make it more liveable.

Landscape is a complex phenomenon which evolves continuously through time and space. It is a reflection of both natural processes and cultural changes throughout time. they are embedded with symbolic meanings of our societies’ cultural diversity and identity. There is no right or wrong on how the perceptual dimension of the landscape itself to each individual. In this short video, landscape is acting not only as a third character but also as a tool to get a better understanding to the story. Since landscape involves a subjective experience, it encompasses a perceptive, artistic and existential meaning, the story will show how landscape can be perceive in many ways. In this short movie we’d like to potray the best and the worst perception of the word escape within an individual and how they are interacting with the landscape through the same element. to show how we are as a human being is not one dimensional character. We are a paradox, we are busy contradicting ourselves. But in the end, the reality is not that we are one or another. It is all us
