WELCOME TO CGS
Canberra Grammar School is an Independent co-educational Anglican School offering outstanding academic education, Active Education opportunities and pastoral care to day and boarding students of all backgrounds and faiths within a community guided by Christian values. The School’s main campus is set on 20 hectares at the foot of Red Hill, just south of Lake Burley Griffin, close to Parliament House and the lively social precincts of Manuka and Kingston. The Senior School caters for 950 students in Years 7 to 12, while the Primary School on this main site hosts 650 students from Pre-School to Year 6. The School’s Northside infants campus in Campbell, near the Australian War Memorial, serves a further 100 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 2. The heart of the main campus is the School’s beautiful heritage-listed quadrangle, which includes classrooms set in the original buildings constructed in the 1920s as well as the School’s art gallery, assembly hall and dining hall. The School Chapel, which overlooks the School’s elegant main ovals, is an attractive architectural classic of the 1960s, and The Snow Centre for Education in the Asian Century is an award winning architectural representation of the School’s bold, international aspirations.

BOARDING HOUSE
Mostly single rooms with lockable storage and heating in the cooler months. With 90 beds available across two houses, there are also twin rooms and bunk rooms. Shared bathrooms on each level. Common Room with kitchenette and laundry facilities. Size/Capacity: 90 Guests for full boarding

THE BURTON THEATRE
Tiered lecture theatre style room, full a/c, supplied computer (ability to plug in laptop available), built-in lectern microphone, overhead projector, whiteboard, projection booth, disabled amenities, toilets. Size/Capacity: Lecture seating with folding writing table, seats 180

THE CHAPEL OF CHRIST THE KING
A 2 storey high ceiliing with narrow stained glass splits as windows. It has a low-pitched conical metal roof and spire with a clerestory window between the walls and roof. There is a chapel crypt, and 2 loft/vestries.

THE DINING HALL
Heritage listed. Ideal for weddings, special occasions and corporate functions. The Dining Hall is one of Canberra’s most romantic and loved venues.

THE GALLERY
The Gallery serves to showcase our students’ art and is the venue for many functions, concerts and other events. It is a welcoming, elegant and easily accessible venue. Commercial exhibitions are advertised in The Canberra Times, and
Exhibitors may hire The Gallery during school hours and at weekends and holidays. The space may also be hired for receptions and cocktail parties. Size/Capacity: 100 standing

THE JOHN LINGARD HALL
The John Lingard Hall is located in the Junior SChool Campus (odd Alexander Street). The hall was refurbished and named in 1997. Outstand acoustics and lighting, excellent for recordings, concerts ad recitals, grand piano, guests can mingle in the foyer with refreshents, catering available, and adjoining kitchenette.

THE PAVILION & SPORTING FACILITIES
The Pavilion is located off the Main Oval and contains outdoor tiered seating and a long room. There are also a variety of grass & synthetic ovals, cricket pitch, basketball & netball, indoor sports hall, courts, indoor 25m heated pool and other facilities available.

PDHPE
The PDHE features a large open hall space and 2 large basketball courts, a weights room and tiered bleacher seating. Can also be used for conference sponsor booths, expos etc.

THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE
The Performing Arts Centre is ideal for theatre & dance, concerts & recitals, lectures, seminars & conferences. The PAC includes a foyer, Green Room, mirrored movement & dance studio, and box office. Servery/kitchenette also available. Disability access.

THE SNOW CENTRE
In 2015, CGS established The Snow Centre for Education in the Asian Century. The Centre focuses on the advancement of Asian Studies at primary and secondary school levels, and is a bold expression of the School’s strategic focus to educate students for a global future. It features classrooms, break-out spaces and a conference room.

THE WAR MEMORIAL HALL
Ideal for large dinners, formals, receptions and functions such as Auctions, the refurbished WMH is a great large space. Shows, expos and displays.
