| Zonguldak Miners Museum | Memorial Diploma-Graduation Project Re-union of the Zonguldak Location : Zonguldak / Turkey

Zonguldak is a very young city that is first noticed when examined. In fact, Zonguldak has a city history developing only in the last 100-130 years. The whole story of Zonguldak begins with the discovery of coal in the region. In the region, which is the size of an undeveloped coastal town just before coal, coal manages to create its own culture. Zonguldak is the scene of many firsts and developments in this short but intensive historical process. Therefore, in a very short time, it becomes a city with many adjectives. A Levantine City influenced by the French who settled in the region to operate the coal in Ottaman times, a mining city with the discovery of coal, first city of the republic, after the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey's, an industry and port city, together with the developing coal industry and trade, a workers' city due to the mass of workers coming with the industry, a lament city as a result of accidents and losses and it turns into a mosaic of all. Each of these identities is influenced, articulated by each other, clashing, reconciling with each other and creating the present Zonguldak. Today many of the city while similar development issues and problems in the World and Turkey. So, what is it that makes it unique to the region this problem? The answer is that such an intense change of Zonguldak is lived in a very short period of time. As a result, the region is unable to keep its memory physically and mentally, and is undergoing a memory erosion.

Besides, the acceleration of the region with the mine and falling with the mine, mining accidents, workers' actions, physical, psychological and perhaps most importantly, environmental impacts of heavy industry left the city still hanging in the air.The Lavuar Area has been operating as a heavy industrial zone for ďŹ fty years when it is operated with the advantage of its proximity to the port. With the demolition decision taken in 2006, this industrial heritage is being destroyed and abandoned to its fate. At the moment, there are only 3 tower-silos and silos under the ground. The task of the project area after this stage can be grouped under 3 headings. A center where the melting physical and mental memory is kept, a rehabilitation space for facing dozens of problems hanging in the air, and a space for the heavy industry to reclaim the healthy environmental conditions and green space it receives from the region.

Physical State in the Area As a result of the urban transformation projects, there is only one (3) underground tunnel that connects with the underground silo and maintains its existence in the new project. The destroyed (2) Kribnaj Building was revitalized by keeping its gabaris and volume in the project.

Approach to the Area Framing and marking traces that are important for the physical and mental memory of the existing or recently destroyed of the project area

Past of the Area The lavuar area was an old, heavy industrial facility in the city. In addition to the structural renewal, one of the important decisions is to leave the area green and nature to rehabilitate damage that this industry has caused to the people, the environment and nature in the past.

Relationship with the Sea Relation to the sea and coast due to the fillings required for the port, the road and port are almost zero. Providing this connection in the project is one of the other important points.

Wooden structure was construced to cover the gabaris and volume of the representing the destroyed ‘’ Kriblaj ‘’ elimination building which the last physical element that melts in the project area. At the same time, it serves as an exhibition and information space for the production at this center.

A

In the empty space remaining from the underground silos, it was transformed into a memory place for mine workers who had lost their lives, had accident due to , explosions, accidents, neglect. The installation work consisting of dozens of gypsum works in the area was formed by the molds taken from these miners' families and mine workers. They still reach out to us, try to make their voices heard.

| Tetratopia - İzmir as a Portcity 4th Grade Architectural Project 401 with Gizem Demirhan, Gözde Yiğit, Nuray Gül Location : İzmir / Turkey

The project area is one of the most active points of İzmir which is İzmir Port and Port Back Area. In order to develop the viewpoint of the project more healthily, a city study was done based on historical, physical and cultural references of İzmir and this region. The city was built around an inner harbor called the ‘’Agora ‘’. Later, it lost its portability and changed to the port and commercial port of Alsancak. The development of railways and transport with containers is becoming easier and the potential of the region is increasing. This increased potential calls for an intense industry like Sumerbank, the Gas Plant, the Oriental Industry, and the Tile factory. With some neoliberal movements in the 90s and the removal of industrial areas from city centers, there are some idle fields that we can characterize as industrial heritage.

INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE | PUBLIC AND PRIVATE COAST AND RECREATION | PUBLIC MIX USED | PUBLIC AND PRIVATE FREE SPACES RESIDENTIAL | PRIVATE COMMERCIAL | PUBLIC AREA PORT

After the analyzes made, the underlying problem was identified. The coast, port, the areas behind the port were designed as separate pieces from the whole of the city. These separate working parts have created and still bear many physical, psychological bounders. We asked what is the method of preserving and improving this dynamic situation of the borders in the city. If we want to build some bridges from city to this area again, believe that should protect the distance between the city and this area. CURRENT SITUATION

Because when we reduce distances we begin to assimilate, and when we increase distances we cause conflicts. So we're losing dynamic state here. The simultaneous overlapping of this infinite variety determined by boundaries was the focal point of the project. The search for a new alternative urban pattern, space, which will meet this situation, has entered.Looking at this alternative to see if there is a contradiction in the literature, meet with the concept that Fuko called heterotopia . PUBLIC INITIATIVE

Heterotopia (3rd space) is what we refer to as the simplest, with reference to the real world, that is, a dynamic character that changes and transforms temporally and spatially. This dynamic character is the region where we can read most comfortably, the port and the back of the port. Why? Because; this region has developed industrially with the port, OTHER INITIATIVE

then lost its significance and turned into idle fields by pushing industrial-industrial zones into city facades. There are certain transformations now being made. For example; the conversion of the Old Gas Factory to a cultural center, conversion of part of the old settlement of Sumerbank to High Schoolor, the existing residential texture ; all of these feed the concept of heterotopia. | Renaissance Holding Design a Sustainable Future Competation | Sustainable Youth Center Competation | Participant

Since 1987, when the concept of sustainability ďŹ rst came into being, it has undergone rapid changes and transformations. As Cook and Golton point out, "Sustainable design varies in a wide variety of ways, incorporating many perspectives and allowing broad interpretation." When we examine a large number of articles, reports and books on sustainability in different disciplines, we see that there are very different interpretations of what the sustainable space will represent. As Susan Maxman says, '' There is no recipe for sustainability. It is a mindset and approach - and should not need any labels.'' In addition to the structural decisions of sustainability, cultural, sociological and economic aspects are equally important. The resulting structure should go beyond just material and energy continuity, and it should be able to sustain the concept of 'sustainability' at its most basic. This is what this youth center is based on in the sub-text of the decisions made during the design phase.

ArcED 2nd Category | Jury Special Prize The chaos which has expected to find humankind came and it found the humankind one day. So-called free governments, which seemed to be multi-voice, began their propaganda to keep people under control. Infact, this multi-voice is controlled by a single voice of big companies, and they wanted to convince people; streets are no longer safe because the streets were people's socializing areas, the streets were filled with "possible" danger which is only they know. We no longer needed nature because it reduced our commitment to them. The great powers on our heads already met all our needs. It does not matter where it comes from or how it is obtained. People were now away from nature. There is no other knowledge of nature except flowing water from the tap, the last few animal photos on the internet and the tree that appears far away from a corner of the window. This insecure world was too dangerous to go out. In a society where you trusted nobody ,communication was already an unnecessary item. The last straw was came out. "Innocent" chips produced with the aim of protecting people from bad environmental conditions, illnesses and "possible" dangers. These chips have become mandatory by governments for every individual in society. Now they were determined to get into people's minds. It was time to go for the against group, Perhaps the last change to make a new society which will not include past's mistakes, chaos. It will be refined new society. There was no-where now and now it was time to move on - now-here -

Every experience he had on this path, every life he touched and touched him, short encounters, long companionship ... In short, what Yunus knew and what he learned on the way. The way has always called Yunus, and he has responded to every call, because every new call has prepared him for his real world, - to his trut- This world was the world of distractions and struggles. But it was filled with lectures and manners that would make life a reality. Every living thing suddenly joins the hurry called life and after that, it draws a way to itself. Either it goes over the drawn roads or it breaks and opens new roads to itself. But whatever , eventually it reaches the truth and infinite knowledge. I am looking for the trail of a troubled strange Yunus, who passed away from this world for centuries after his death, but left behind huge traces of him. I trail this trail just like Yunus ; deeply, like the cracking stinging that goes on without revealing itself It must be modest like him in this building which would bring his system of thinking and beyond to life, not in sight butaccessible ... So that, this is to make Yunus Emre's intellectual home to us, a structure that meets all underground, with novisible factions on the surface at all. As you have entered life, you will suddenly be included in this thought house. Yunu say that, '' to leave the comfort, for going out '' So, in this building you will find yourself choosing a way to leave your comfort just like life... Who will not dare, will go from a single road and only learn from this way , while others will add something from every road. But whatever you earn, whatever you lose, we will all meet in eternal knowledge and spaciousness as Yunus hopes.

SECTION AA

| Istanbul as a ‘’Palimpsest City ‘’ Competation | Participant Istanbul has always been the city of great projects, great powers; These projects, which were introduced into politics-commissioning such as new bridges, settlements with a population of one million people, super transportation networks, rapid and big urban transformations, unidentification and gentrification, - without relying on scientific criteria, public interest and planning, without distinction of professional and social reaction - directly identified the city's macroform. As a result, the population is expected to be 22-25 million in 2023, and the city faces the danger of depletion of all its vital resources such as agriculture, forests and water basins. This city, which hasn’t begun to recognize the right to live a living thing in the city, has become a silhouette of the inadequacies In this geographical region, which loads the secrets, sorrows and beauty of hundreds of years, it will no longer be as easy to see the beginning nor the end. Istanbul is a monster that consumes the day it lived... In the year 2023, the city, which started to fill up with newcomers, has started to be no one but to be the same for everyone. This city, which has no place to live for people, has always been open to new constructions, new rents and new transformations. Every time the machines and vehicles were made available, it could not fit people and nature. It gave to part of its soul each comer. Istanbul changed when it gave place and started not only to its rapid transformation processes but also protect its memory . Istanbul was not for living anymore. It was a means to come and go. bridged city, roads, big city, Istanbul ... Every new road, every new bridge will not be enough anymore to meet the need of the Istanbul revolution. Istanbul must be a big bridge.

İstanbul started to split into parcels with "ideal measures". Now every square meter is ready to serve. These parcels have turned into areas where every individual in Istanbul now has to live. .

'' Emerging new technology '' allowed Istanbul to divide. Every piece was a new bridge for tens of new insatiable Istanbul. and every new bridge would open a new rent gate. Because what we do after the first one, Istanbul will always feel a bridge missing.

Construction of the new type of each piece is continuing under water, while the city parts are known to be full of one day.

The new piece to open the door for the new needs -rant- is completely ready for use.

Now, with these parts that are divided, everyone will have a Bosphorus -artificial- beauty. Even the groups that are to be excluded and want to be othered will be liked by these lies. The fake nature you couldn’t even touch when you walked by, the silhouettes you lie to see from afar, and the smiles on people's faces….

New piece rises. It will continue its power until it completes the part of the time. Until it discover the way to get more …

| VIII. Concrete Ideas Project Competition Competation | Participant The concrete that entered my life again in the 20th century; its strength, its easy shape and size, its compatibility with other materials and its economical structure. Concrete is frequently used in constructions today with its carrier properties. But it is not open to the user experience. Sadly, the examples that can go beyond that in today's design are very limited. Concrete has always been cold, rigid and leakproof. It can not be passed through, it is perceived as closed to intervention and it is introduced. The point we have dealt with in the design we have developed for solving this problem is basically the destruction of this perception. I mean, to break this stiff attitude, to pass through the concrete, to feel its touch and to experience it ... In the middle of a crowded square, we can embrace the concrete with this design that will allow us to come face to face with concrete suddenly in a quiet corner of a street corner. Each mass involved in this design has been poured out in different physiologies - such as age, gender, obstacle state, etc. - with the help of molds created by reference to human bodies. In today's fast life tempo, it reminds us of the ties that human beings have lost with human beings and other life, we are waiting for a ďŹ ction that is based on the properties of concrete binding, supporting, and assembling. At every step of your journey, this is a short journey where you are not your concrete anymore, but the concrete has shaped you and you have to integrate it with your body, touch it, feel it and feel it. At last you can embrace it, hold hands and look at the sky, or you can love a little charming friend.

In this work, which was the theme is rhythm, it is aimed to design a rhythm that comes together with its own rise and fall, based on certain rules. Grid system was aimed to provide minimum contact point vertically. The horizontal axis used the three-piece gridal system as a support element. and the woods were mounted to the grid system in a vertical axis, with different lengths, following a crossed path (x-axis). The reference points of the height of our work proceed parallel to the height of the space we are building. At the same time, the distance left on the ground was transformed into a space where people could enter and experience inside. 525 wooden laths were used. The cubic meter is about 58 meters in size (6,6 x 2,2 x 4).

It is designed as a portable exhibition space using only paper bobbin and corrugated cardboard, and at the same time a unit of seating for the function of an urban furniture. The paper bobbin and corrugated board has been combined with different joining and folding methods to increase the strength and stiffness of them. The design, which had a detachable joining system, was rebuilt in the city square after it was built from the workshop area.

First of all you should know that this is the article you will not be able to read with your great and noble loneliness. This time you need someone to openly accept ; forget the unnecessary pride and bullshit that big cities teach you ! Don’t read this alone read only with one. Now, if someone isn’t there, get in touch with one and bring one in ! if there is one, wait for him/her to read first paragraph in loud voice, after that your turn. When you come to the line, start to read your paragraphy in loud voice. It's time to play a mutually enjoyable game. As Holstee Manifesto say : ‘’This is your life. Do what you want and do it often. If you don't like something, change it. If you don't like your job, quit. If you don't have enough time, stop watching TV. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over-analysing, life is simple. All emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Life is simple. Open your heart, mind and arms to new things and people, we are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once, seize them. Life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them, so go out and start creating. Life is short, live your dream and wear your passion.” Essence of this work, this manifesto is the manifestation that two people can communicate their own will without without any obligation. The great troubles of the big cities can not swallow us. Now stop reading this paper, tear it down and hug the people other side of platform.
