CONNECTION Class topic : co-living housing Site : Hsinchu , Taiwan March.1 Core Studio ｜ 3rd Semester ｜ Independent ｜ 2 months T he site, where the dynamic and static vibes encountered. Each end meets the shopping street and residential area. Not only the residents gather here for foods after works also the students make their stop before studying till midnight in the cram schools. In the design, there's a cutout in between a massing throughout the site. Connecting two type of living atmosphere and making a pause for the bustling city. Where people could dwell in, take a break .
There are two elders and two youths running this privite kitchen & inn. The elders provide experience on cooking while the youths taking care of the visitors whom are here for the treatment from food. The kitchen as a stage performs daily and having all passengers to join their party.

The thesis is to disguss how a roof involved with strcture, culture, political meaning ...and so on, as a element of Thenarchitecture.design a enormous roof in 10000 sqm for response. This project is a question for the future. As books been dead, replace by digital data. Libraries fade into history,leaving the gigantic mark stones among the cities. Which caracter will a roof stands for as a symbol of culture ? Seperating the roof from its matrix. Floting in the air. Apart from the mortal. It's surpported by the coffin of books ,put up a tent for the civilization beneath. It's light as an umbrella also heavy as a crown.

BOUNDARY Class topic : housing comlpex Site : Hsinchu ,
The Dongda Bridge run like a 4 level rampart blocking all the views from the housing nearby. Underneath are double layer parking lots which make the lifting ground became a solid wall. City full with cement blocks. The refugees of city flee into a few green spaces. Having these tiny little parks become the center of the neighborhood. In this design, there's a mimic viaduck built up as a housing on the observatory and bring back the view for its residents. It lift up the ground and extend the green. Making the deck as part of the open space. People live in rural area are far away from their next doors . Still the connection within countryside is way better than those in one single building. The design of the complex plan arrangement focus on decreasing the boundries between complexs, surroundings ,and nature. The new skyscraper will be open to everyone and form a living enviroment together.

From the previous urban analysis there're 4 points I concluded for the campus master plan Connect a passage from urban to nature Reorganize the circulation Open up to the neighborhood 4. A fresh image of the new campus with historical building repositioned. The campus being part of the open space, provide greenery, car free enviroment and multifuntional space toward the public rather than a monstery of knowledge. By adding new buildings interact with the existing. Together they enclosed 5 squares facing different aspect of the surrounding. Then, there's a passage of acadaemic throughout the campus, located with various departments all mixed together. Every corner could hold a summit at anytime. At the end of the passage it lead to the riverbank bringing pedestrian into the green.
